Everybody keeps saying kankuro surpassed sasori which I really don't see sasori didn't have anything as an edo and what if he does and he's alive

The answer is simple: Sasori would rape. What can Kankuro do against Iron Sand? In fact, I believe that Sasori would still win using only Hiruko. These two are on two completely different levels.

I you saw the manga you would have known that Sasori didnt have his puppets. Puppet master without his puppets is like Uchiha with gauged eyes.

It's obvious Sasori would win. Kankuro proclaiming that he had surpassed Sasori was complete and total BS. Sasori was known as the world's most renowned puppet master. That's not something you can just forget. They barely even had a battle during the war, but I can hardly call Kankuro's victory a feat; Sasori had no puppets or weapons of any kind and plus he had backup.

If they fought 1 on 1, both armed and ready to go to the death, the winner would be Sasori with little difficulty. Kankuro is just not advanced enough to take him on by himself.
