People consider him weak because he allowed himself to be killed by chiyo and sakura, however they forget three things.

1. Sakura and chiyo had plot shielding.
2. Sasori's poison was made useless thanks to Sakura's creating an antidote for it, if not for the antidote both Sakura and chiyo would've been dead almost instantly
3. Chiyo was very experienced and controlled Sakura during very crucial parts of the fight that would've ended in sakura being one-shotted.

Lets look at the facts.

1. Sasori has an army of 103 puppets. (ma, pa, hiruko, and the 100 army)
2. Sasori has deadly poison on not only his own attacks but on others.
3. he doesn't have a a brain so all genjutsu is meaningless to him.
4. he can spew poison out in a fog, this makes him really deadly, without the cure both sakura and chiyo could've gotten one-shotted by that.
5. in his own pupper he can cast water, fire jutsu's that are really fast.

I am not arguing he should be in the top 10 or anything stupid like that, but he is at least mid-kage level, and should be respected, and not hated because he allowed Chiyo to kill him, in a fight that was worked by plot(sakura showed feats in that fight that she has never once reproduced anywhere else, example are when she failed to dodge the juubi's needles that random fodders could dodge and a half-hearted kick from a distracted omoi soloed her)

All what I am saying is not to look down on him, he is strong and can give many of the big-shots a run for their money lol.
