Sasori can basically perform Edo Tensei

With his "human puppets", the puppet can still perform jutsu that was unique to the puppet in his or her lifetime, like the Third Kazekage's Iron Sand. It can even copy Kekkei Genkai (iron sand used Magnet Release, a KKG)

Sort of. I guess the only diefference is that they need to be attached to Sasroi's chakra strings and they don't retain any of their personality. They are just puppets to be used by Sasori,

but I can even see their lack of consiousness being akin to the tags placed in the edos to wipe thier minds as well so yeah there are definitely some similarities. Maybe the puppet jutsu was based off of a varient of Edo Tensei so to speak.

And knowledge too. Wouldnt he need the the hand signs for certain jutsu too? That would mean he needed to learn them before killing the host.

An interesting concept would be if Sasori could capture an opponent alive. Make a heart that also serves as a brain (Like his) and make everything else out of puppets. That way, his puppets can retain their intelligence, and if they have a heart, they can just rebuild themselves (Like Sasori does with his own body). That would be pretty OP.
