Saskue's summon

So uh I'm a little confused. I thought ever since Itachi pulled Orochi out of saskue, he made a contract with hawks (ie. the fight against danzo) So why is a snake his summon.

That's the most precise way to describe the current confusion about Sasuke's summoning abilities.

Sasuke Summoning -

To symbolise his ascension from snakes (i.e. Orochimaru's power and his affiliation to Konoha) he changed his team's name from Hebi (snake) to Taka (hawk). It is revealed that his animal-oriented techniques have also changed from snakes to hawks as shown from him summoning a hawk that he used to fly around on during his fight with Danzō, evade his assaults and in the anime perform coordinated attacks with Sasuke. It is currently unknown when he made a contract with them. However, Sasuke is still able to use his snake-related techniques as he later summons a giant snake to fight against against the Ten-Tails.

Could have just googled this, but eh.
Yeah the most plausible explanation about how he can summon both is simply that he has a contract with both.
(as other people have said about five thousand times now, haha)
