There are no manga chapters to juxtapose the anime with, so we either consider all anime as canon or not.

unless we get Dr. Slump in DB Super filler like episodes I am just going to take the whole anime from beginning to end as canon, esepcially if the canon arcs reference the events that these "filler" episodes go through

and example is next weeks episode will have a flash back of Himawari's OVA/One Shot chapter

the Academy arc is currently done but that episode is based off of canon material, let alone the academy arc referenced the event via Naruto and Hiashi, it is just now getting a spot in the anime via flashback

Closest thing that we have to an confirmation is Kishimoto saying that the Academy Arc is "legitimate" but that ended on Ep. 15. Still, the Anime was advertised as an original story, which usually consists of filler material in a larger margin. Which is why I said that the Anime being filler-ish because of the multiple writers tackling it every week, makes it questionable. I can't argue or debate that the Anime is canon, it's not worth it. However, the Manga will always be the lead here. At least for now.
