Boruto is following Sasuke's path:
Sharingan/Jougan>Curse Mark/Karma.
Interestingly enough Sasuke did not keep his curse mark. Maybe that is a hint that Boruto wont keep karma?

Sarada seems to follow Naruto's path:
Kyubbi/Sharingan>Sage Mode/Byakugo???.
Naruto really did not receive a power up until part two which was Sage Mode. The same goes for Satada in theory.
