But technically Rasengan signifies he inherited Naruto's chakra control and his element affinities come from his parents or the fact all of Ashura's descendants are gifted with elements :eww:
I don't really think he inherited Naruto's CC. I mean if you really think about it...
> He learned the Rasengan faster than his father, took him around two or three days.
> He unconsciously applied Nature Chakra to it, took Naruto a while before he could get the hang of it, but Naruto also had a teacher to help him with the technicalities.
His CC based on his feats would be better than Naruto's during the Exams. But Naruto's overwhelming boost from the Kyuubi which gave him access to Gamabunta, and defeating Neji, easily tops his skills with raw power.

I'm not sure. The only real elemental user out of Indra/Ashura, was Indra himself. He was probably a great Lightning user like Sasuke, hence 'Indra Arrow' technique. Ashura seemed more talented in body powers, like Sage Mode and sensing. However I don't deny that the Senju Clan have produced great Elemental users like: Hashirama, Tobirama, Naruto (I know he isn't an Senju, but you understand what I mean), and now Boruto.
Though Madara is amazing in Katon, and Sasuke himself was capable of using Katon at 6, and learned Raiton after Kakashi taught him.
So it's pretty much diversified.
Imo he's still gonna get a power up from his lineage because his father literally has the Sage's body like Ashura, maybe Sage Mode or a Kurama cloak like the one Hinata used in War Arc.
I'm thinking something more like:
I. Sage Mode [Jiraiya]
II. Just Base [Like Minato/Tobirama]
However Sasuke believes he can surpass Naruto, but I think that's a ploy honestly. He did say it with Boruto not being enhanced by any power ups mind us. Still I have no clue on this subject... Just another Gohan parallel.
But it is interesting that Boruto is talented but lazy while Sarada has a "hard work" ethic and aims to be like Naruto, imo Kishi reversed Indra and Ashura's roles amongst Naruto and Sasuke's children. With Sarada we may see what an Uchiha with a strong will can be capable of while Boruto displays what a Senju/Uzumaki with prodigious skill can be capable of.
I also think that's pretty cool. It makes things more interesting for me because I really hate copy cats and hand-me-downs. People just want to see characters pull the same techniques as their parents, but honestly that's just boring. I'd rather see something new.
I would rather have not seen CES, Rasengan, Shadow Clones, or anything over used. But I guess it's inevitable, right?
The whole time? Yeah... Kinda. Sasuke did the same to Deidara, until Deidara "activated" his genjutsu seeing through eye thing. And he did it to Danzo for all of 3 seconds before the end of their fight.
But the best example of Itachi's OPness is against Deidara. Itachi literally stood there, and Deidara attacked himself without ever knowing he was even in a genjutsu.
Poor Deidara hated the Sharingan and got it coming to him.
