Sakura's developement was probably given to the Uchiha. Because the Op Genjutsu and Chakra avatar (susanoo) couldve easily been for Sakura.
Though Sarada being Uchiha, can show Sakura's missed potential ,be OP, and not effect the plot.

Sakura could have also rocked Slug sage mode and kick some ass! She could have amazing skills in genjtsu and OP techniques in genjutsu. She could have a good counter balance to Sasuke and Naruto. Kishi could have given her so many abilities & transformations that could have made her easily be on par with Naruto and Sasuke. Sarada is an uchiha and Kishimoto is the biggest Uchiha fanboy and makes the Naruto series revolve around that legendary clan not that i am mad I am team Uchiha being Sasuke is my favorite character overall in naruto. I definately see Sarada being done right and given justice as a female. I think Kishi has learned from his mistakes and will let Sarada shine

Try to see the positives here (there are plenty).

-Sakura was the first of the konoha 11 to defeat an akatsuki member.
-She took 3 years to whiz through med-school and become the second best medical ninja in the world.
-She taught Naruto how to control his chakra.
-She demonstrated her genjutsu prowess and intelligence on several occasions in part 1. She saw through the chunin exam genjutsu, for which Sasuke praised her for. She saw through the illusion of Sasuke "dying" just before the chunin exam begun and she saw through (and broke Naruto out) of Kabuto's genjutsu.
-She was praised for her protection of Tazuna, whilst Naruto cowered like a *****.

-She worked out the secret of Pain before anyone else, including Shikamaru. Whose theory was shot down with logic by Queen Sakura.
-She destroyed Pain's summons with the power of shannaroo and healed the villagers. Compare this to Hinata who charged into a battle she knew she'd lose. Sakura has always been useful, people just choose to ignore it.
-Again, she healed Naruto (a key player in the war arc) as well as most of the alliance. She snuffed out the presence of the fake Neji, who was ripping through top-level shinobi in the alliance before Sakura dealt with him.
-She went toe to toe with Madara, got impaled by his rod and shrugged it off like it was nothing.
-She played a pivotal role in rescuing Sasuke, the other key player for the alliance, from Kaguya's dimension. Without her medical aid and ability to tank shots of acid, Obito would have been toast.
-And finally, she's 1/4 of a team that took down Kaguya. While Sakura was landing a punch square on the head of the queen of shinobi, the rest of the kunoichis were sleeping.

Sakura was always relevant. She was always important.

Sakura was in the front meaning she actually fought alongside Sasuke and Naruto and was of help and contributed to the final atangonist defeat, Kaguya.
