Either way it sucks that Jiraiya died liked that. It was significant and meaningful but also very sad that Jiraiya couldn't fufill some of his dreams.

This right here^^^. Together they became the legendary Sannin. It's not so much a rank they obtained as individuals but a rank the 3rd bestowed upon them for being an unbeatable team.

I guess ur whacked or something, I didnt read it all but ur saying that kakashi is way too weak for a hokage, First u have tsunade,she is the granddaughter of Hashirama,and she healed all of the leaf village,greatest medic to ever live...and she has amazing chakra and strength.
Then jiraya....he killed 3 of pain's paths....and still had energy to fight with....he is a sage, and no one can be a sage unless with unbelievable chakra.
Orochimaru, this guy was almost immortal and he almost killed the 3rd, not to mention he almost killed sasuke if itachi wasn't around and he is still alive for now after his death...
He destroyed a whole village by himself and he started with Kabuto and Tobi the 4th ninja war
That said....the sunnin arent that weak and u can never underestimate them They are their generations' best.

The sanin are powerful, the only ninja who could take them three on successfully are Nagato, Any kage or kage level ninja, Itachi, Naruto&Sasuke. Anyone else, would lose.

how can you sit there and say Kakashi could beat the 2nd?? if you're basing this simply off of the fact that we never saw him (the 2nd) fight then you should just stop....

I think what he is saying is that we lack information on the 2nd so until we know anything we can assume that kakashi stands some chance as there's no evidence to prove that he doesn't.

They are all powerful, but not the most powerful. All kage-level. Orochimaru was considered for the job, Jiraiya was offered the job, Tsunande got the job.

'Kage level' is an unprecise measure. A Shinobi doesn't become Kage because he's the most powerful Shinobi, but because he has experience and fits for the job. There's a huge difference between Hashirama's and Tsunade's strength for example. There's a huge difference between Gaara's strength and that of the third Raikage. There are HUGE differences between the Kage's levelin general, so 'Kage level' is pretty much pointless.

Anyway, the Sannin aren't weak. Tsunade may not be the best fither, but her medicine skills are legendary. There's a reason she's called the best medicine Shinobi there is. Orochimaru points with his countless Kinjutsu, most of all Edo Tensei and the rebirth. With his abilities he'd defeat most of the Akatsuki in a 1 on 1 fight. The same goes for Jiraiya, he may not be as strong as Orochimaru, but still he's a formidable Shinobi.

This thread is basically outling why the Sannin (Orochimaru, Jirayia, and Tsunade), aren't powerful like people think they are.



This same Nagato created his 6 paths of pain and managed to kill Jirayia in SM. Jirayia was at his with end with arguably 3 of his weaker paths. Many people argue had Jirayia known Pains secret he would have won. This is far-fetched as he could only beat 3 Pains with genjutsu with the assistance of Ma and Pa and was his last resort at beating Pain. Same token had Pain even knew Jirayia could use genjustu 3 Pains would have been enough to take him out.

They should have been powerful, and they originally were ridiculously powerful up until Akatsuki started getting more prominent, but sadly Kishi has a talent for creating characters with amazing potential and completely undermining them and putting them into the shadows of main characters. =/

i would just like to point out with Kakashi if he had become hokage that technically makes him a hokage level ninja... even if the least powerful person becomes hokage that makes them a hokage level ninja cause they got the job lol.
