Usopp promised to protect innocents and then ran off on them, when a major theme of the Strawhats have been not abandoning people they vowed to help. That's not a bad trait? Nah, you're just biased.
It's also stupid of you to jump into the middle of this conversation between me and Dannie about Usopp and Sanji, and demand to know why a comparison is being made between them in a response to you. The conversation Dannie and I were having, that you took it upon yourself to join in on, was how he labels Sanji's character as tainted despite saying Usopp's character isn't, when they're equally bad traits.
If you wanna join the conversation, then get with the conversation.

You can say it's the inappropriate time and place, but ALL of the Strawhats have had their negative character traits popping up at an appropriate time and place, so it's incredibly hypocritical to say Sanji's character is ruined for it while none of the rest are.

Tons of examples of there being a time and place for that in countless other works, heck even One Piece with Sanji. This time Oda simply went overboard that's all, no reason to even further comment.

Even if they don't find it funny, it's absurd to say that Sanji's character is ruined because this isn't the time and place for this character trait.
The Big Mom assassination is the last time and place for Luffy to be trying flashy with his entrances, yet I don't see anyone saying his character sucks and is pathetic, even though that's endangering the lives of all of his friends since it can ruin the element of surprise they need.
I don't see anyone saying Zoro's character is retarded for chasing his sword around Dressrosa and making a spectacle when they needed to be stealthy and keeping a low-profile.
I don't recall anyone calling Franky retarded for letting Senor Pink hit his strongest move on him, even though he put the entire mission to destroy the factory at risk when he did by choosing to put his machismo over the plan against Doflamingo.
