I'm not bashing or hating on Sanji. So before you read the thread know that.

Most people always bring up Sanji whenever "Zoro is superior" post is made. Or Zoro and Luffy are the main 2 of the group.
Now the "main 3" refers to the 3 main fighters for the strawhat. But as far as the "duo" goes.. it has always been Zoro and Luffy.

Like I don't get why people have the need to bring up Sanji and try to compare him to Zoro... Even in power. Zoro has been a level ahead of Sanji.

Zoro and Luffy wil stay near each others level. I mean look at the arc where they found brook (Forgot the name of the arc lol) Luffy beats the boss, but than Zoro does his epic feat.

Zoro and Luffy are the spitting images of these duos:

What do you guys feel about it? Is Sanji on Zoro's level? Is he more important than Zoro?

Zoro would extreme diff Sanji, but thats how it always been. Sanji is also the strategist of the Strawhats, he is easily the smartest crewmember. People need to stop underestimating him.

Well the manga made it clear already. Everyone consider Zoro as the first mate including the ultimate Straw hat fanboy like Bartolomeo. And Luffy himself consider Zoro more than the rest when he always says "Zoro and the others", "Zoro's group", whether Sanji is there or not

Sure, Zoro is a little stronger, but Zoro and Sanji are just as important for the crew. Zoro might be a LITTLE stronger, but that doesnt make him more important. Strenght isnt everything.

All of the Straw Hats are relevant main characters. To try and label others off as "unimportant compared to so and so" (with the exception of Luffy) just doesn't work.

Strength wise, Sanji is always close behind Zoro. Zoro is always stronger, but he isn't a full level above Sanji. You also forget that in Thriller Bark, Sanji was also concious and willing to die for Luffy; however, Zoro knocked him out while he wasn't suspecting it.

Here's the other problem with this...

We have hardly seen much interaction in Rodger and Shanks's crews. While Beckman and Rayleigh stand as first mates, it's been made clear the SH's don't have an official one (obviously Zoro is unofficially). Who's to say Sanji doesn't parallel a member of Rodger and Shanks's crew as well.

I would say the only reason they compare him with Zoro is because he's too far ahead of the Mid Trio (Robin, Franky, Brook) to compare. As such, Zoro ends up being the most consistent character who's around his skill level.

Luffy>>Zoro>Sanji

Luffy will always be noticeably the strongest. Zoro will be noticeably the second strongest. Sanji will be noticeably the third strongest.

Luffy will stand high above, Zoro and Sanji will stand relatively close together behind Luffy... But Zoro being clearly stronger.

Actually I'd say Robin is the smartest followed by Sanji.

Sanji's strongest intellectual suit is being very good at reading people. He could see Law fixating on Doflamingo... He managed to figure the Sea Train would be where Robin was during Water 7.

I'm not saying they aren't important. Everyone on the ship is important. Without Nami, they can't travel properly, without Sanji they can't eat properly and so on. But the goal of the topic is talking in terms of strength and status, what i wanted to clarify. Like i've said, Luffy always says things like "Zoro and the others" or "Zoro's gang" and so on

Just look at these examples

This clearly shows Zoro is his most trusted man, his right hand

I've posted stuff like this all the time and people still disagree with me on this one.

I believe so that sanji has not shown any physical/durability feat that can go on par with luffy and zoro.

Just look at thriller park for an example, will anyone honestly believe that sanji can take in all the pain and fatigue like zoro did?

Simply No....

In my opinion i think the strengths are like this: Luffy>>Zoro>>>Sanji or Luffy>Zoro>>Sanji

Sanji is on Zoro's level. Zoro is still a bit stronger. Both are important to the crew but i've always felt like Sanji is a bit more important than Zoro. Sure Zoro is the unofficial first mate and Sanji is the cook but Whenever things get tough Sanji is capable of making decisions that a first mate would do.

Zoro is slightly stronger than Sanji
Both equally as important to the crew. Sanji maybe a bit more.

if Luffy is 100
Zoro is 95
Sanji is 92

The power gap between Sanji and Zoro is closer than the power gap between Luffy and Zoro.

I say Luffy and Zoro are equal currently. U_U They did fought on par with each other before. Problem is that we (can) never get a clear comparison of feats of these two with each other (though we got one on the durability of Zoro that it's more than Luffy's), there's always gotta be something. "Luffy being stronger than Zoro", the base of this argument is that he is the captain and is the future PK.

uhh did you read it? Cause I did.. and it didn't show anything close to what your saying.

if Luffy is 100
Zoro is 95
Sanji is 92

The power gap between Sanji and Zoro is closer than the power gap between Luffy and Zoro.
So Rayleigh and Roger had a bigger gap than Rayleigh and their third strongest? I doubt it...

The first mates for all of the rookies and captains are near the captain's level.. There is 1 level difference between Sanji and Zoro, as far as i can see..

Luffy (slightly)>/=Zoro..(plainly) > Sanji. Zoro is a level ahead IMO dont let their joke rivalry cloud yo sight in this, Luffy in Sky Island said "dont worry, they r with Zoro he's strong" not that im saying Luffy thinks Sanji is weak or has never said Sanji is weak. Im not sure if it was in Whisky Peak or the sea horse(wanting to b dragon, anime only arc) but the words "Swords or fist, lets see which is stronger" n someone else(Luffy) wanted to know which was stronger too.

If you think about the people they fought in the cp9, zorro and sanji's opponents were so close in level they were off by 20 doriki. Sanji and zorro both had the same amount of difficulty with there opponents. so its logical to say atleast before the time skip it was very close in power level

Doriki -
Doriki is basically the physical power of someone, and as such has a proportion with the Rokushiki skill. In the Viz Manga and Funimation dub, it is called Power Level. It can be measured by Fukuro's "te-awase" (手合わせ te-awase?, literally meaning "match"), which he did so with his teammates after their first reunion in five years. It is performed by jumping at each member and having them hit him. A common armed soldier on average has around 10 Doriki, and according to Spandam, a Doriki of 500 or higher is easily superhuman.[1]

Kaku was a swordsman too,, but that thing is not covered up in doriki. So basically, he defeated a strongerr opponent with the same difficulty.
