As Gaara winks at me mysteriously, the ground starts to erupt, resulting to a few tremors. Channeling my chakra within my gourd, I then release a considerable amount of sand as it accumulates underneath my feet, slowly forming into a cloud of sand. The cloud of sand slowly levitates as I move away from the tremor's direction. In mere seconds, a large pillar of sand protrudes from the ground, barely missing its destructive force

If you wait for the sand cloud to form under you and carry you away it is prob gonna be too slow to block the sand pillar. Read my description, as soon as you see the wink, the geyser erupts. No time to form the cloud after.

Try again, be more creative. If you don't pass this step, the training fails. FYI you can use more than one jutsu. The object is to recover from being launched into the air, this helps me determine your overall skill with Santon Release and what I can expect from you in training. Please treat your move as if this were a battle in the arena and not training.

As Gaara mysteriously winks at me, a large pillar of sand protrudes beneath me as I am quickly launched into the air. Channeling my chakra within my gourd, the sand starts to wrap around my other lower portion of my body as the sand suspends, allowing me to maneuver out from blasting into the air, maintaining control.

One-three advantages:
This jutsu is great because it provides both defense and offense. Very helpful jutsu when starting a battle
One-three disadvantages:
Weak against suiton attacks.
How you would use it in battle: I would use it both defensively and offensively since it provides both of them. I would most likely use this defensively against kunai's and projectile weapons.
What would be your counter for it: A simple suiton technique

How you perform it (with as much detail as you can):
Gathering a small fraction from my chakra pool, I then channel my chakra towards the gourd, fusing my chakra with every grain of sand. Manipulating my chakra, a scythe of sand floats right in front of me as I use shape manipulation, creating a small shield of sand. I then compress the sand together furiously, causing the shielf of sand to act as a solid.

Okay, not bad. Moving on.

This is one of Gaara's most used Jutsus. It can be used to spy on your opponent when line of sight is broken. Such as being underground from hiding like a mole, or inside of Gaara's sand cocoon. Gather your chakra and link it to a small amount of sand shaped as a eyeball. From there you will connect the chakra through your optic nerve. You must keep one of your eyes closed while using this jutsu though.


(Daisan No Me) - The Third Eye

Description:The user creates a eye out of sand.This eye is then connected by an invisible link to the optic nerve thus allowing he user to see with that eye (connect eye must be closed) The eye must remain close to the user but has a seeing range of 20/20 vision.

One-three advantages:
This technique is great. It can be used at all times and can last for the rest of the battle without passively using chakra to keep it active. Its great for spying and great technique when in war.
One-three disadvantages:
To use, the user must close his eyes connected to the sand eye. This might hinder the user's vision.
How you would use it in battle: Spying and when I lose contact with my opponent
What would be your counter for it: Nothing really because the move is supplementary

Pouring a small fraction of my chakra within my gourd, I then manipulate a fair amount of sand as I condense it into one ball, creating an eye of sand. Whilst doing that, I then channel some chakra within my right eye as I create an invisible link to the sand eye's optic nerve. I then close my right eye as I see what the sand eye is looking at.

Description: Gaara manipulates his chakra to generate multiple small pillars of sand to rise up from the ground beneath the target and lifting them into the air.

To do this jutsu you must channel sand into the ground to move below the opponent and create more sand to blast them upwards with small pillars of sand. This is good for getting your opponent into the air for a aerial combo.
