current sand sibs vs 6 paths of pains.they fight in suna. Full intel.temari has katamari out.

6pop mid diff, none of the siblings will touch deva.

if its kankuro and temari up against human, naraka and asura then asura is the only one they gotta worry about but missiles can be diverted or blocked by wind release or aforementioned puppet shields. salamander can be hidden underground for a nasty surprise and black ant can restrain a body and impale it
temari will cut up human and naraka before they close for taijutsu. human hasnt got any big feats besides the whole "i touch you, i win" thing. not that good of an idea vs two long range specialists with poison. now pain knows kankuro has puppets. he just doesnt know WHERE they are.

gaara fights preta, animal and deva. gaaras well aware of pain and vice versa but theres a problem with fighting while knowing if you touch the ground your legs will be captured and crushed. animal can summon his bird and escape but thats it. devas the biggest threat which again gaaras aware of. so he will go for him first. preta need not touch sand because he will be restrained and crushed before ever getting that chance.
auto defence withstands most of what pain has except maybe CT and gedo

CT in suna would be useless against Gaara since it would only make one big sand ball which gaara can get out easily

I'll give it to 6Pop, Gaara has good counters for a lot of the paths, and Kankuro and Temari are powerful, but Asura path would RAVAGE Kankuro because he has exposed chakra strings. Also, since T6POP are dead bodies, poison wont be effective (as seen when Sakura's body could still be perfectly controlled despite being paralized with sasori's poison).

Temari could probably keep animal path and such at bay for some time. But this would mostly be Gaara doing all the work because of the skill matchup. and in the end he would be overwhelmed after Temari and Kankuro are defeated.

I say this as a logical Gaara fan.

Uhm I'm not sure thats a thing.. There are already chakra rods controlling all of the paths' corpses, If Kankuro could just attach strings to his opponents, he would have to be restricted like Edo Tensei LOL. Plus I think even If Kank attempted this to Asura, the strings would be absorbed by touching him.
