"The hardest lesson in life is learning how to overcome the impossible."
Basic Information
Name: Daisuke Hayashi
Nickname: Deviation, Devi
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Clan: N/A
Looks
Deviation stands at around six feet and with a more rounded face, a small scar going across his right eyebrow and cheek. He has a wide jaw and grey-blue eyes. His hair is black, with the sides of his head shaved, forming a mohawk out of the hair at the top of his head, tapering off into a point at the nape of his neck. As time progresses, the hair at the back of his head begins to turn permanently white. He also sports a strange tattoo on his back between his shoulder blades.
His attire consists of a black, 3/4-length, hooded leather jacket with red interior linings and a flag sewn on the left arm, a gray tanktop, black fingerless gloves, black faded jeans, black military boots, and a necklace. His sword is slung over his back favoring his right hand, and his kunais are placed in holsters at the back of his waist, under his coat. Dante also seems to be ambidextrous, favoring either hand for melee attacks with his weapons.
Personality
Deviation carries himself in the same slick, confident manner with a vulgar and spiteful tone.
Deviation is very rebellious towards authority figures, but laid-back to anyone else. Living on the periphery of society and caught between two worlds, he feels like an outcast. Young and angry, but with a quick wit and black humor, he is disaffected and disassociated with society, and quite apathetic. He has no fear, and no respect for authority. He has no qualms with engaging in debauchery and other hedonistic acts, mostly because he believes he won't be around for too much longer.
However, Deviation has a huge heart beneath all of this rough exterior. He purposely chose to live out his life his own way because his eyes were opened to evil as a child, especially when the people who were supposed to take care of him turned out to be criminals. He decided to take a stand and fight back, no matter what happens. But even after all of the hatred, violence and murder, Deviation would often look at himself and see if he could call himself human, going so far as to attempt to rip his chest open to see his own heart. He just knew that he had to convince himself he wasn't insane. Deviation displays a more caring side to females and children as he sees them as a sibling.
Due to many years of Philosophy, Deviation has acquired much knowledge of the world around him. He tends to sometimes speak with a mature and wise tone that seems beyond his years. People often are taken aback when he decides to cast off his tough guy demeanor in exchange for words befitting that of a sage or priest. With a strong sense of self, Deviation knows what he wants out of life and the cost of getting it. He will not hesitate to kill if he deems it necessary however he learned at a young age that sometimes violence isn't the answer. He can be seen sometimes meditating with his hand on his Nagamaki. He explains that he does that to remember that he is still human.

History
Born in the Land of Iron, Devi was privy to many resources for attaining higher learning. As a child he loved to read and imagine. His favorite was history and war. He was a very smart kid and for someone so young, was very wise. The children would constantly tease him as the "know it all". Feeling ashamed and embarrassed, Devi began to take on a different attitude. He became very rebellious towards his instructors despite them knowing it belittled his impressive intelligence. Eventually his behaviour became more disruptive that his parents had to assign him a teacher.
His parents dearly loved Devi and despite their criminal background (which they kept a secret), they taught him many things. His father was someone Devi often looked up to because he was a renowned captain and his mother a renowned scholar. As far as fighting he learned much from his father that many thought could not have been learned in the Land of Iron alone. Especially how much strategic knowledge Devi's mother knew. She taught him many secrets and always reminded him to never reveal what she had taught him. She would always kiss him on the forehead for good luck. As he continued to grow and become a young man, his father and mother pushed him to become a samurai. It's not like he never wanted to be one but he was afraid that he would not live up to their expectations. They assured him that he would become a fine samurai.
After a couple of years of training, Devi decided that he wanted to learn more of the world before he ever decided to join the samurai. He wanted to experience the world outside and see with his eyes. He wanted to become better not just for himself but so that one day he would be able to protect the men he would one day lead. He set out towards Konoha, the Village of the Dancing Leaves. As he approached the Land of Fire he received a letter via a pigeon. The letter stated that his parents had been killed after being found to have been wanted criminals. On the bottom, written in blood, said, "In the leaves you shall find a man who is your brother. Take shelter with him and tell him we loved him dearly." Feeling shocked he looked again and saw a name and an address. He set out with haste to Konoha to find out more. For his destiny awaited him and a new adventure.

Cerberus
Deviation really sets himself apart from most Samurai because he believes it will distinguish him. This is apparent when he decides to learn to use a Nagamaki instead of the traditional Katana or Nodachi. He feels this suits his style and is different like himself. He is comfortable with its weight and feel that he has grown to be quite adept at it.
