samurai champloo or berserk? I loved samurai champloo. It is probably in my top 5 of all time, from the theme song to mugen,ji,and fuu's journery to find the samurai that smells of sun flowers. Berserk is great as well but i drift towards champloo more hbu?

Champloo imo, that was a solid 9 anime. I feel like berserk often overdoes whatever good it has. I feel like the manga will forever be in my on-hold list tbh.

Both are really great. Berserk had more impact on me though.

The only downside i have with berserk is the anime adaptations, which we can't have a decent one other than the 1997 version and the movies. And of course the manga's frequent hiatus...

That's tough choice.

Berserk manga is amazing, meanwhile the anime sucks.

Shamploo is also incredibly funny.

Berserk isn't even close to being done and it takes forever for each new chapter to be released.

So I'll probably go with Shamploo.

no, episodic is shit, there is no real story and its boring
That's not even remotely true tho. You can have an episodic framework and still have an overarching serialized story. That's why avatar the last airbender, cowboy bebop, samurai champloo, etc is praised. Or you can look beyond cartoons, and go to TV Shows like Atlanta, or movie series like MCU. To automatically dismiss it as shit because it can tell a good story in a small timeframe without having to rely too heavily on overarching narrative is close minded in my opinion.

Each to their own, i just find they get repetetive with no real plot development and avatar is an exception becasue it actually builds a story unlike cowboy bebop

Just going off the anime (I'm not reading Berserk until we get some sense that it's wrapping up soon), I have to go with Champloo. The story for Berserk is better and more layered than the generic one we see in Champloo, but for a visual medium, the old animation from the '97 anime and the crappy CGI from the new one just can't match those awesome swordfights and the accompanying soundtrack we see in Champloo.
