Samurai Champloo - Ikue Asazaki

So, some of you have probably watched the most badass samurai anime ever,
"Samurai Champloo".
I'm currently watching the series again and remembered a certain song, by Ikue Asazaki.
She sings old traditional music for this series to use in their anime and
I'd like to introduce y'all to it since it is such a special type of music.
Some might not like it and at first most will probably be WTFing,
which is why I recommend you listen to the song at least twice. I was like so at first, unfortunately, but that's how it was and when I listened again.. I will probably never forget its beauty and unique sound.

Hmmmm~ It depends on what kind of anime you like. Samurai Champloo has a slow pace at times, but it holds a certain depth and the goal of the story will become clearer as the story progresses. I just finished ep 5 and it's as good as I remember it. I think the series is unique enough to give it a try, and if you don't like it then you don't, that's how it is some times.

I remember this song the first time I watched it not going to lie it freaked me the **** out. I thought it sounded like a dying old lady in pain(I think it is right?). When I saw the lyrics it made me sad the lyrics were put in english on the funamation channel. It looked this woman was great but lost everything I think thats the theme of the song anyways.

My impression as well, but indeed the lyrics and the second time I listened made me rethink~
I believe the lyrics are about the life and poverty of a woman in older times.
