Anyway now that i've lured you in, might as well check out this thread i made on Kakuzu
This thread is to increase awareness of Kakuzu and how he is a severely underrate Akatsuki member because he got one shotted, the same Jutsu would have killed anyone (excluding the Third Raikage) and that's why Pain was so scared to be even hit by it.
Kakuzu's Reasons for Joining Akatsuki:
When he was still a loyal, elite ninja of Takigakure, Kakuzu took on a mission to assassinate Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage. This mission, however, ended in failure due to the might of Hashirama's Wood Release techniques. Despite the insurmountable danger faced in the mission, what awaited his return to his village was the stigma and harsh punishment associated with the failure of his objective. In response to this treatment, a wrong levied against a shinobi who had put life and limb on the line for his village, Kakuzu came to hold a violent hatred to his village.
Some of Abilities and Techniques that Kakuzu can perform:
Wind Release: Pressure Damage
A powerful wind technique which is released by Kakuzu's wind-element mask. A tornado-like mass is compressed until it has a very high density and is then released. The wind pressure is raised to its highest limit, and once the technique hits the target, the resulting blast sweeps everyone off their feet.
Fire Release: Intelligent Hard Work
Kakuzu's fire-element mask fires a small fireball that erupts into a giant fire-storm after making contact with a surface, causing widespread destruction to the area. Since the flames travel along the ground, and cover such a wide area this is a difficult technique to evade
Earth Release: Earth Spear
The user flows chakra through all parts of their body causing it to become noticeably darker, which increases their defensive power to its utmost limits by making the skin as hard as diamond. Furthermore, the destructive power of physical attacks is increased, making this a great all-purpose technique.
Lightning Release: False Darkness
Kakuzu's lightning-element mask emits lightning in the shape of a spear from its mouth, which then pierces the enemy. Its destructive power is great enough to even pierce through rock; meaning it has a high killing potential. The user can increase the number of spears to attack multiple enemies
Kakuzu Ultimate Jutsu is absolutely beast it combines all 3 of his destructive elements which are his offense - fire, wind and lightning. The fire is strengthed by the wind and the lightning surrounds the attack to increase the size of the attack.
Kakuzu's Forbidden Transformation - Earth Grudge Fear
This technique is a secret kinjutsu of Takigakure. It transforms the user's body into something similar to that of a rag-doll's, which is held together by hundreds of thick black threads. Kakuzu was able to manipulate these threads for many purposes. He was capable of sewing up any injuries that he or others might suffer, most commonly by reattaching body parts.
The most significant aspect of these threads were that they granted Kakuzu a form of immortality, although he declined to think of it that way. In addition to sewing up his injuries, he could use the threads to tear into a victim's body, steal their still functioning organs, and integrate them into his own body.

Intelligence:
Kakuzu was shown to be a keen analyst, which was somewhat attributable to his age. He is highly observant, easily noticing that Shikamaru was taking his time to formulate a plan to counter Hidan's technique, after the former caught his partner in his Shadow Imitation Technique. He was able to quickly discern the purpose of Shikamaru's various shadow attacks, and devised ways to counter them almost instantaneously during the battle. An example f is when Shikamaru trapped him and Hidan in his Shadow Imitation Shuriken Technique, Kakuzu detached his right arm, hid it underground and with its help and was able to remove the trench knife, thus successfully breaking free from the technique.

Overall this guy is badass in terms of moveset, intelligence, his OP kinjutsu (forbidden technique) and he had the best reason for joining Akatsuki, any of us in his position would of did the same.
