I believe she is on High Jounin level now, but that she still needs at least slug summoning + slug sage mode or some kind of new powerful jutsu to reach Kage level.
She will never reach Narutos and Sasukes level though.

I still believe that being paired up with a Hyuga is a gamble for her taijutsu (the only way for her to do damage in a fight), but now I think it's come down to "either one could be defeated by the other very easily".

It is debatable, but for me, as long as Hinata does not show Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven in manga, Sakura will beat her no difficulty.

Not quite, She has not shown any new abilities, or the ones that Tsunade has. I agree that she is destined to surpass her, but not just yet.

I expect to see something new out of her, but not yet, she had her first real power up, so it is going to be a few chapters before she gets another one.

I agree, it would be epic But I believe Hashi has a "true" sage mode. A mode that does not require any animals, something that S06P possibly had. Mito however could quite possibly have had Slug sage mode

We will know more when she releases the seal. If she's high jounin now to you if she pulls something major oh boy. She can't show everything she has at once, slug summonings will show sometime Tsunade said herself she will inherit something from her as sanin, i'm sure she got her slug contract. Also her seal will probably have some variant of a jutsu like Tsunade's probably but would do something different. I hope it doesn't have the drawbacks though I don't want her to have the same shortened life span effect.

I fully expect her to become kage level by the end of series. However not just yet, she has just gotten a huge powerup, so it's gonna be at least 10 chapters before she shows something new. Possibly a jutsu that only she is capable of doing or even Slug sage mode.
