Sai who had jumped along side Sakura and (the other, whatever) Katsuyu slug, asked what Sakura thinks about Sasuke's intentions. She replies that she is proud and she completely trusts Sasuke. But even though Sai knew she meant what she said, he could tell something was wrong by Sakura's facade. We then see Shikamaru glancing at Sai and Sakura.
So what could this mean?
Earlier when I had just read the chapter there was another thread that was about Sakura giving up her feelings for Sasuke once and for all. But it's not simple for that to happen since she had liked him since the beginning of the series. So in this case Sakura is hiding her emotions. Because why should she need to when she is completely doubting the possibility that her love will be reciprocated back? So yes she's in doubt.
I thinks it's ironic for Sakura to show a fake smile to Sai, since Sai was the one to act a smile. But Sai's smiling was for intimidation, Sakura's was for assurance.
Sakura is worried and doubtful over this feeling. Like I think for Hinata, it doesn't matter to her if she is loved back by Naruto. But for Sakura it's not. I'm not trying to be a hypocrite but I think these two points are far from hypocritical.
I guess whatever Sakura will do, she would interfere with Sasuke and his actions, like she always does.
This moment has to do with Sakura's feelings because Shikamaru who knows how much Sasuke means to her, noticed this just from glancing. Only four people know this actually and that's Sai, Shikamaru, Naruto, and Karin. This is because Sakura doesn't show it. Remember this:
As we read these words, "did you think Sakura was joking"?
No she wasn't. She was being honest. When Sasuke left, she was alone. Sakura was hiding it in all this time.
Did you see the expression Sasuke made from that?
After waiting this long, I finally got an answer for this. To me this chapter proved that Sakura is after all shielding herself everyday. Almost every time there was a mention of Sasuke around Sakura, wouldn't she cry or liked to? Didn't you want to know why? Well now it's clear. I respect Sakura because of this.

Do you remember this?
Did it ever take time for some of you to think that maybe Sakura does this all the time? Can you imagine?
