That sequence of events is so ordinary, that it seems that it would be redundant to waste pages drawing them out at all. If the story were to return to the Naruto and Sasuke vs. Madara's legs fight for a while, and then suddenly Sakura warps in from Kamuiland wearing a sharingan eye, with some blood on her body and saying simply that Obito's dead (or bringing his body along), nothing would be missed.
Kishimoto's job is to entertain his readers, not waste their time. If something extraordinary were to happen, then maybe that would warrant the story remaining with her for a bit longer.
