so...if ppl can make completely random threads about secondary characters, i can make this one. for the Sakura lovers out there
1. KEEPS NARUTO IN LINE- say what you will about her hitting him, but it provides the discipline he missed out on as a child. i say her hitting him shows (a.)the fact that she cares enough about him to want to see him acting accordingly as a ninja and (b.) as Sai points out on many occasions, she merely wants to hide her affection for him. her willing to feed him shows that too
it's pretty comical to me.
and this is probably not a coincidence..
2. Saving Kankuro and developing a cure for Sasori's poison- not much to say on that but it IS an accomplishment.
3. Defeat of Sasori- it may have been early on, but that speaks to me about her character. NO other kunoichi from Konoha was able to take down an Akatsuki member. and fighting on the foreground isn't even her main priority as a ninja! that says a lot. she can hold her own clearly.
4. Helping Ino develop as a medical ninja- going out of her way for someone BESIDES Naruto, i.e. Ino, says she has depth in character. i'd say she is a better person than most for doing things like this for people OTHER THAN NARUTO i can't stress enough.. she's truly admirable to have been teaching while still learning. it's almost as though she's repaying her for helping her come out of her shell when she was a child. i like their friendly rivalry. Ino is pretty awesome too lol
5. Constant healing and care for Naruto- without her, he would be in quite a bit of danger. besides, he admitted he enjoys her company...
6. Confrontation of and repression of the Kyuubi- she put herself in danger to stop Naruto and calm him down. if that doesn't scream that she cares deeply for him, go wash out your eyes and read/watch it again. not to mention she healed him after he had just attacked her.
7. Taking role as head of the hospital during the destruction of the Leaf- that was something she stood up to the plate for and handled near flawlessly. she's a high rank medical ninja who is on par with Shizune. not to mention Tsunade's student. the Sannin are very important to the series as they were major influences on Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. it may go underplayed now, but it's still pretty important.
7.5 Defeating a Pain Summon- to save a little girl she didn't know. she carries out her duty as a medical ninja quite well.
8. SAVING FRIGGIN HINATA- i needn't really clarify on this. we all saw how she saved her. yet Hinata fans STILL wanna put her down. let me just say that she would be dead without Sakura. absolute fact. and her look says "because i love Naruto too" to me..
9. Saving Karin- frankly, i like Karin so i was glad when she used her skills to save her. not to mention, this is where she realizes how much more different Sasuke is now. he's not the old Sasuke, though Naruto does point out he is still Sasuke.
10. Putting her own feelings for Naruto on the line to protect him- i don't believe Sakura was lying when she said what she said. she simply knew it was the only way to distract Naruto from her true intentions. NOT her brightest idea because it resulted in him telling her she was lying to herself. Naruto is a dunce though. he didn't see through her at all. she was clever with that ploy, but it made her lose some credibility towards him believing her feelings were true. i mean, it would be hard to believe she would just go from Sasuke to Naruto, but he hasn't noticed her feeling's development since the Sasuke Reunion. for her to put her own desires to the side to protect him shows she cares about him more than she's willing to admit. that confession was true, but it was used as a ploy which was good strategically about Sasuke, but not so much for NaruSaku. they're still trucking tho. and Naruto clearly has feelings for her.
11. Taking down a Zetsu clone- yea. she handled herself fairly well in that situation. analyzing his DNA and defeating the fake Neji...pretty cool
12. Unyielding belief in Naruto- i point this out because it is a MAJOR turnaround in her character. she went from belittling Naruto in Part I to truly believing in him. that's why she shouted for him to return in the remains of Konoha. she believes in Naruto.
and i can see why she didnt jump in. yes, she believes in his strength. besides, the guy next to her wasn't telling her EVERY detail of the battle. and how long was Hinata's little attempt? like 2 minutes? that wouldn't have been enough time for her to make her way down there to the man she trusts. besides that, she was charged with Tsunade. her mentor. the Hokage. she's a medical ninja so watching over her while she was in a coma was her top priority. and at the end of it all, Kishi puts Naruto in Sakura's arms. that wasn't an arbitrary decision.
all this and more is more than we can say about any of the secondary characters because, oh yea, she's a MAIN protagonist. she's pretty important to the series whether haters wanna believe it or not.
and i might add that ppl can't say a 12 year old knew anything about true love or differentiating it from a schoolgirl crush. id say her major turning point from Sasuke to Naruto was when Sasuke tried to kill her and Naruto saved her. not to mention her keeping her hair short now could be taken as symbolic for her getting over him. Kishi brought Karin in to fill Sasuke's new love interest though Sasuke seemingly doesn't reciprocate her feelings...or anyone's.

Sakura has had development alongside Naruto, and frankly she's the heroine with the most if you ask me.
