And I've noticed that despite mentioning the two/three-headed dog, people are still making this out to be a 1 vs 1 fight instead of a 2 vs 1. What's Akamaru doing?

Yes, she can. Or at least Tsunade could. She was able to fight with two Susanoo blades in her body.

It's obvious that they'll get crushed by the flying gravel and boulders.The shockwave damage them severely maybe breaking bones this attack is nearly impossible to dodge Akamaru will probably die first.
