Sakura technique doesn't work like that .she doesn't need to jump using force to do that strong punch .*Her punch strengths comes from her gathering chakra at one spot and releasing it instantly . The only reason she jumped is to get in front of naruto and sasuke hence the "i want you to look at my back " quote .

Asuma never showed that ability when he fought with him in full health . "gathering info" is just an assumption not a proof.*

He needed someone to pin hidan down to cut his head . That was a combo attack .shikamaru ability was perfect for that to work .
Asuma other burned hand doesn't change anything .its not like it can pin someone down like shikamaru shadows if it was healthy.
