not so much a fan of sakura but she does give a different dynamic to the manga and she is the only one who naruto actually listens too so by that merit ill stick with kishi and say sakura stays

Sakura can show confidence as well. She's done so in the past, but the fact of the matter is Kishi cannot write a decent female character. He's even admitted to this himself and it's pretty apparent. Why do you think she's so weak in comparison to Sasuke and Naruto? It's because Kishi views women as weaker than males. (Don't give me the Konan, Mei, and Tsunade B.S, because even they are only sub-par and would get trashed by most male ninjas).

If we had a different writer handling Sakura, she may have been better and less hated, but we don't and as a result we have the abomination of a main heroine that is Sakura.

I would've preferred Hinata (young) for the begining of Naruto. Sakura drooling over Sasuke was lame seeing how lame she was.
If Sakura was like how she is now, Then. I would have been fine. Sakura part 1 is and will always be my most annoying character in the series. I liked her fight with Zaku and Ino but other than that she was depressing when she wasn't Sasuke annoying drooling.
Sakura part 2 awesome.

of course sakura deserves the heroine part. i've explained my thoughts pretty clearly on a thread somewhat similar to this regarding sakura. the fact is, she's perfect for the heroine spot. i only think she gets her strength from being around both naruto and sasuke. and when it's a real emergency then she'll step in. most times naruto or sasuke doesn't need anyone's help (mainly because they're also main characters and major powerhouses). but when both naruto and sasuke are out of commission (which is almost never) then she steps in and does her work. long enough for something significant to happen. it's been proven in the forest of death, twice. if hinata were in those situations, she'd fare worse than sakura. especially in the fight against sasori. so it remains, sakura is the perfect fit for the heroine spot from the leaf village. for someone with no kekkei genkai (like hinata), no special weapons (like tenten), no special ninjutsu (like ino or temari), and just brute strength AND healing, she's come a long way.
but like i said, i explained my point pretty thoroughly in a thread not too long ago about sakura. i don't wanna repeat myself. then again, this is just my opinion

As the title says in my opinion Sakura shouldent be the main heroine anymore the reasons are:

Sakura has more feats than any other female from her generation. You just cant someone who would be better main heroine that her. On the other hand, Hinata is probably the most one-dimensional character in the manga. She doesnt exist without Naruto. Shes just like Orihime from Bleach.

Naruto doesn't seem to react to Hinata's love, while we've seen Sakura somewhat respond to Naruto's love for her. Also, Hinata has no connection to Sasuke. Sasuke and Sakura's relationship is a big influence on Naruto, if you forgot.

And Sakura sure is popular in Japan but if you see the last officially Naruto Character Popularity Polls you ll see that Hinata is more polular and that vote was only done in Japan.
