Sakura did improve in the war, but to say she redeemed herself is too much. One power up and a few note-worthy feats aren't enough to redeem all the shit her character was dragged through before and even during the war arc.

Actually Sakura did develop quite a bit.At the start of the story she was a girl who always made good grades,but had little battle skills of her own,and always relied on her teamates.Then as time went on she used her intelligence to develop new skills,became much stronger,and was able to help her teammates.
