Sakura Likeable?

Is it just me or was Sakura really likable in her battle against Sasori?

Probably it's just me, but she was bloody awesome here... she showed me how medical ninja handle business. She hopped straight into a fight with a seasoned Akatsuki member and put in work. No crying, no begging to be saved... just pure bad *****.​

After this fight was over and she started talking again I begin to not like her so much anymore. Then she went straight downhill again.

It was the only point in the manga where I thought she's finally going to become somewhat decent. But then she quickly became useless again, so I guess it was just some fan service kun:

Sakura is awesome. Kishi just refuses to write story arcs for her. This is true for many Naruto characters.

Because Kishi doesn't write pretty much anything decent with her is the very reason she is not awesome. Its a wasted character with wasted potential. Anyone can say "character A be so AWESOME if put in scenario B", but that didn't happen. So...we go with what we get.

I don't like her and i don't hate her, that's pretty much how i feel about 98.5% of all anime females. I find really, really hard to like a female main lead in anime. Of all the anime i've watched... i only liked 2 or 3 female leads. I don't know if i'm being sexist or something :wut:

Its because Kishi's new assistant left right around the time this arc ended.Had he stayed we may have seen a completely different Sakura

Even as she is she is awesome and doesn't deserve the hate she receives, imo. Fans judge Sakura as though they've seen the extent of her potential and can correctly deem her a useless character. Whereas that is not the case. It is as you've said. Kishi refuses to unearth her full potential through interesting character arcs.

Potential unfortunately doesn't make character. From start, Hinata had ten times the potential Sakura did on the role of a female lead. The fact that ultimately it led to very little due to a lack of screentime proves it.

You're right, if she kept it up, she would have been respectable despite not being top 10 favourites. She would go from someone that was unable to do anything to help their teammates, to someone that is selfless and strong by not relying on men!!

i agree. not just that battle, she was pretty good that entire arc. counteracting sasoris poison and saving kankurou life, then the sasori battle. imo she was even impressive than naruto at that same stage in the series. didnt last tho
