Some people can't admit a good character is not made from few feats. Its made from a great characterization as well. That is why I am taking her feats stated in the Op as a grain of salt.

Naruto isn't that battle smart.. he simply goes off of reflexes and intuition.

Battle smarts come from studying or experience.

The difference with Hinata is that she had no intention of winning when she fought pain. It's not like she was like Okay imma jump in here and save the day. She expected to die. It's just She would rather die trying, than die crying on the ground like Sakura waiting for Naruto to figure it out. Hinata is basically following Naruto footstep, she has the will to not give up. During the fight with Kyuubi if Hinata didn't do what she did Naruto would have been captured and most likely tortured.

Also Hinata is no smart, but her byakugan that surpassed neji gives her cqc advantages so she pretty much pre-occupy the situation

Ask told another user, at that point he figured he could revive anyone he killed, making their deaths meaningless, besides, he was trying to make them give up, had they stopped fighting he wouldn't keep killing them.

Why kill them to begin with? Just take SOME of the tailed beast chakra without killing the jins. Just use to the Gold and Silver brothers to revive the Juubi before the fight starts. The killing was utterly pointless.
