I doubt those people actually hate her at all. Like you said, they try to be cool. But they don't actually hate her, so they're pretty much irrelevant and best to be ignored.

I have to comment on this part, particularly the sentences I've put in bold and a number in front of.

1. You're missing the point. Sakura has been trained to dodge and stay out of battle as much as she can. As a medical ninja, that's your job because if you get injured/incapacitated, then who will heal your teammates? Yet, despite this, she often manages to get herself in a bad situation and be the damsel in distress. This is not only showing her lack of skill as a med-nin, but also her lack of skill as a kunoichi overall. And for a female lead, that's not a very good character trait to have. It's logical fans would get fed up with her.

2. Now you're just stating the obvious. Hinata is clearly superior in combat with her Byakugan and other techniques. Of course people would like her better because of this. Not just "Hinata fanboys and girls" as you so grossly generalize.

3 & 4. We agree with Orochimaru because he's obviously right. Who is more powerful in battle? A medical-nin or a kunoichi trained in close-combat with the Byakugan? It's not that we don't value the support types, we do, but Sakura is just shitty at being a support type. Take Tsunade, who was working her ass off to keep almost everyone alive when Pain invaded. That's something to appreciate. So what has Sakura done in terms of being a support type? The only time she did anything useful with her medical skills was ONCE in the entire series where she made ONE antidote. Not very impressive.



Another baseless generalization. Most people actually DO understand her character, but don't like her anyway. I'll explain why in a bit.



Firstly, the only thing similar is that, yes, Sakura and Hinata are introverted and dedicated when it comes to LOVE. The way they handle it, however, tells more about their character than anything else. Your actions determine what kind of person you are. What kind of actions has Sakura shown so far? She constantly hits Naruto, the person who's been there for her since the beginning. In part one she was a complete bitch towards him, for no good reason. Being "in love" doesn't give you an excuse to be abusive towards others. You go try that in real life and tell me how many friends you have left when you're done. I'll bet you it'll be zero.

Sakura is only shy when it comes to love. Hinata, on the other hand, is shy on a constant basis. Not only when Naruto is around, but she is timid by nature. She has a soft voice, a gentle demeanor and tries not to burden anyone else. I can't understand how YOU can say that they are similar in their entire character, when their only similarity is that they're both in love and dedicated. You'll find that lots of girls are in love and dedicated. That does not make them equal in personality. The fact is that Sakura needs to take an anger management class.

Lastly, on a general note, anyone else who tries to put them in battle against each other is just not thinking right. They both have completely different roles! Hinata is specialized in close-combat and tracking targets! Sakura is a MEDICAL NINJA! Of course she'd lose to Hinata, because she wasn't made for combat. It's unfair to pit them against each other.

If you have to compare their skills, compare how well they are doing their jobs. But, alas, we haven't seen enough of Hinata to compare it, so we can't say anything about it.

But, the fact remains that Hinata simply is a more sympathetic character. She doesn't need constant saving, she's always kind and caring towards others and she doesn't hit anyone out of anger nor scream or get bossy.

To me, Hinata is just better. That's my personal opinion. If you like abusive chicks, hey, have at it. But I'll just stick with the girl with the big heart.

i can only agree with you on a few things. for one, pairing the two is unfair because Hinata is a close combat fighter vs Sakura is a med nin who is suppose to fight from behind the scenes. Thats why we dont see Sakura in much action is because she is suppose to stay out of the way. Yes, she ends up in situations were Naruto saves her, but im sure Kishi does that for a reason, probably to show Naruto's dedication to not just here but all teammates and shes the girl. typically whether we like it or not, girls always are pinned with the damsel in distress roles and shes the heroine, so its expected that she might get saved more than other characters. Sakura knocks Naruto around because he deserves it alot and its comic relief and if anyone hasnt noticed, Naruto deserves some facepalms occasionally. Besides, if it werent for Sakura's intense "how to act around a woman" beatings, Naruto will never learn how to actually treat a girl whether its Sakura or Hinata lol. Sai said it himself, girls tend to get rough with the guys they care about, just like alot of times when we were younger, the guy would tease the girl he secretly likes deep down.
Alot to people do hate Sakura and for stupid reasons. She is useful, she is strong, and smart. Tsunade wouldnt have just taken on any apprentice, she heard about Sakura through Kakashi and seemed glad Sakura asked. Her and Hinata are a whole lot alike to me, they both would do anything for their loves, both would do anything to help out and not be a burden (i now people are gonna say Sakura ends up a burden but thats because like i said, shes the heroine damsel in distress type) they seem like a divided up version of Kushina actually. Hinata is the kind side while Sakura is the hotheaded side. basically, both characters are good to be equally, but i believe Sakura is overall a better character, just not a better fighter than Hinata.

Hinata has qualities that make her completely different from Sakura and vice versa. Sakura is not afraid to show Sasuke that she loves him, basically fawning all over him and completely (also selfishly, I might add) trampling over Naruto. Hinata can barely speak around Naruto and she would never hurt another person just because she's in love with someone. This makes Hinata A LOT more sympathetic in my mind. Hinata is also very gentle, and calm. Sakura is a loudmouth and thinks she can boss anyone around, an annoying quality she got from Tsunade, so she's certainly NOT just a hothead.
she doesnt trample all over naruto. its beyond obvious sakura has grown to care for naruto, as sai and yamato have stated in the anime and manga. she is still in love with sasuke but she cares for both of them. hinata is the shy one, sakura is the outgoing one. they both have men they love and care for, they both would do anything for those men, they care about their teammates, they both are into the medic thing (tho Sakura moreso obviously) both sought out individuals to help them train (hinata=neji, sakura=tsunade) they both are underrated, and they both have to get saved alot (tho we havent seen as much of hinata so her no so much, but they few times i have seen her shes either gotten the shit knocked outta her or she was the damsel in distress for a while) to me these few things alone make their characters alike in my opinion, but again only my opinion.

Describing their characters in such a simplistic manner is disingenuous and ignorant. Their actions, and the underlying motives for their actions, speak a lot louder than words. And to me, Hinata's actions have proven her a kinder, more caring and selfless person in contrast to Sakura. While you may like Sakura's character more, I think it's obvious Hinata's character is the more loving one. If you like bossy, loud and brute, that's fine. I prefer gentle, warm and caring.

thats fine you prefer that and i do too for the most part, however this is a manga, so i like it i can see Sakura in other lights other than her negative ones. Hinata has a few negs on her too, its just harder to hate sweet hinata and dont think i do. i like both characters equally.
