Sakura is and always has been overrated

First of all she has basically no redeeming personality traits in part 1, and very few in part 2. She has contributed very little to the plot compared to even some side characters. The entire concept of NaruSaku has been 100% debunked in canon since Naruto rejected her.

To put it bluntly, why is this character still alive?

You must be pretty new to the Naruto fanbase because it is the exact opposite Sakura is constantly bashed on and underrated more then anyone.

She is underrated overall, but overrated when people say she is equal to or greater than Tsunade. Tsunade is still far more powerful than she is. That is not an insult to Sakura. I am saying Tsunade is the most powerful Kunoichi.

Everyone calls her a fodder forever, and then she shows her haters up. Just because you like Naruhina, and you feel threaten by Sakura existing is just pathetic.

Sakura is one of my favorites because

1. She's a nobody her clan isn't famous, She wasn't born with any special abilities, blood line limits, she doesn't have demon inside of her, but besides being born with that handicap she still has become a fabulous shinobi.

2. She acts independent, and I like strong women who act like that. She tries to keep up with the Gods of Shinobi like Sauske and Naruto, and thats admirable.

3. Her story is relatable, and thats they way Kishi designed her, with human problems. Not alot of people expect maybe people in 3rd world countries can relate to having you entire clan killed or having a demon inside your body so every alienate you. But everyone can relate to being made fun of as kid for something silly, like a large forehead.

So grow OP, because Sakura will always Shannoroooo in your face.

She is a bit overrated by her fans. 
She is important for the story, of course.
But her impact is on a similar level as Shikamaru und Hinata are, for example (especially in part 2*)

Powerwise you can argue about her becoming superior to others.
I just think the strength of a character mustn’t be equal to the importance of the character in a story.

*We don’t know.
Maybe Kishimoto was planning to give her a more important role at the beginning.
But he changed this as he discovered that Naruto Readers didn’t accept her, or he got pushed by the editors to draw her out ...
