It's not really hard to believe, she is the third member of the main team. It's just that you and many others have been brainwashed into thinking Sakura is weaker than she is due to the abundance of hate and bash (secret love) she receives. :lol

She was never weak since she inherited Tsunade's strength, and she was incredibly powerful in the war arc after activating her seal.
