Based on feats and not hype he has nothing that would help him against current madara therefore he is in the same boat as sakura. I agree that he would most likely show off a never before seen jutsu however that is speculation just like a new yin seal power up for sakura. Being jonnin level still doesn't really help him here. Until he shows something new he does not belong here according to the logic NB members use.

i am not bias. i use manga based logic. and i can prove my statements.

How do you know if that was just hype
I mean look at Hiruzen

It most likely feels that way to people who see power before friendship. I think all 3 fit together just fine, a team from the beginning and a team until the end. Especially when Naruto causally called her Sakura-chan as she was healing Kakashi. The familiarity and warmth could be felt there and it showed how strong a bond all 3 have. Or when Kakashi was thinking about the past and Naruto and Sasuke were listening as Sakura told them what happened. Everyone looked right to me.

^This, a team consists of people working towards a common goal with co-operation. Although Sakura is not on the same tier as Sasuke/Naruto (who are the powerhouses), she will show how she can contribute to 'Team 7'.

Kishi wanted to show the Team 7 touchy feelings again and might include some team work as well in the upcoming chapters to reming readers of the golden days :/
