It was a team effort, but sakura pulled most of the weight whether people agree with that or not she did even when being chiyos puppet she still had to have the strength to do the things she did the string were only backup, she saved chiyo from the iron sand by playign dead and saved her from sasori quite a few times as did chiyo.

Sasori would have beaten both Chiyo and Sakura. Just for plots sake, Sasori didn't avoid the last attack of Chiyo though see it coming, Chiyo admitted it herself, who further said that she should be the one to be defeated. It was probably because he was attacked by his own parents.
