Sakura was never intending on killing him, I don't think so anyway. A punch,scalpel, of heel jab would have ben enough.
The poison wasn't even as fatal as it could've been. Naruto shown the effects of it.
Sasuke tried to kill Sakura, but idk he wasn't himself, and maybe he sensed Kakashi's interference....though his morality was so twisted...love turned to hate and vice versa.
He thought he hated Itachi and it turns out he loved him, he obviously felt something towards Sakura.

1. Yes the poison wouldn't have killed him but 1 stab in a vital point would have killed Sasuke and Sakura could have pulled that off due to knowledge of the anatomy (no debate).

2. Like Naruto, Sakura never viewed Sasuke as a true enemy NEVER and if she did Sasuke would be dead. And if that were the case Naruto would have taken advantage of Sasuke's weakness (him going blind) and would have killed the enemy so if she's pathetic then so is Naruto.

3. Sakura deserves credit for acknowledging that she was relying on Naruto too much in regards to Sasuke.

4. She was able to put her genuine feelings aside and make a serious rationalization of Sasuke based on his actions/deeds that says a lot even if it was momentarily.

5. Sakura's plan from the beginning was to approach and kill Sasuke ALONE Sai and Kakashi sniffed through her BS and saw her real intentions (jus like that fake confession). No one would have let Sakura leave the village alone to presue Sasuke so Sakura brought them along knowing she was equipped to factor them out.
