Reread the Sasori vs Sakura/Chiyo battle and you'll see Chiyo stopped controlling her before that. As even Sasori admitted, Sakura was able to analyze his fighting style and dodge his attacks without Chiyo's help. Not to mention Sakura is trained in evasion.
