Anyways the thread was okay. Lol the way you worded it though. Quite nostalgic, to be honest. Naruto and Sakura has the best friendship in Naruto; hand's down.

Something feel's 'real' about them.

But he clearly understands the concept of love, and it still is hypocritical because by he claimed he hates people who lie to themselves when he’s been doing it for how many years?

He appreciates Sakura as Sakura is a person who would love someone as cold and as heartless as Sasuke. It means he can be loved. Remember, he is the demon fox jin. Everyone hates him. But knowing someone is capable of loving Sasuke, he believes that someone will love him.

That is why he is attracted to her. She is what Naruto needed. Someone that can go past his demon fox child and love him.
Naruto was like that one puppy that everyone has abandoned and Sakura to that puppy was the lady that feeds all the abandoned puppy. Except she continues to neglect him.

Naruto was so infatuated to the idea of being loved that he lied to himself that Sakura is not like the rest. Sakura will eventually love him. To him, she is his saviour. But that day never came. Well, it did but it was a lie by then.

Naruto is not very smart. Never has been, he has been a hypocrite a few times.

At least Sakura's fake confession was resting on her acceptance that if she succeeded in stopping Sasuke that Naruto would hate her for the rest of his life maybe. She was willing to make that sacrifice and her and Naruto were quite close at this point in the story.

She was going to do that for him because she didn't want him to have that burden.

It sounds better than convincing myself i loved someone for a competition lol and the person was the trophy \o/
