Sakon (左近, Sakon) and his brother Ukon (右近, Ukon) were twin brothers and the apparent leader(s) of the Sound Four.

Appearance
Both Sakon and Ukon have dark bluish-grey hair with long bangs that covered one eye. Each of the twins wears turquoise lipstick, and brown eye-liner, which made their appearance more feminine. They wear brown tunics with long black wristbands (which are mistaken for being part of their sleeves), black skin-tight shorts, and purple ropes tied around their waists. Sakon wears a dark-red, beaded necklace around his neck and a giant scroll behind his back. Both of the twins have a cursed seal planted on their foreheads which are covered by their bangs. At most appearances, Ukon is usually shown with a smirk on his face, and his head slightly tilted down. To further help distinguish between the two, Sakon wore beads around his neck and Ukon had a somewhat deeper voice. Also, their bangs were on opposite sides (Ukon's being on the left, Sakon's on the right).
Personality
Sakon enjoys bad-mouthing the opposition, and, like the rest of the Sound Five, he constantly referred his enemies as "trash". Orochimaru noted Sakon to be the fastest and strongest member of the Sound Four, traits Sakon was very proud of. When in battle Sakon liked to prolong the fight by toying with the opponent and use unnecessarily powerful techniques. This tendency of Sakon's caused him to slow down the rest of the group whenever he got interested in an opponent. Ukon was able to counteract this flaw by being more impatient and hasty than his brother, forcing Sakon to quickly end his battles. He and Ukon also both had their own perception of morality, like several other Sound Four members.

History
Like many other Souma No Kou users, it is unknown exactly where they were born but they grew up and were raised in Otogakure by an extremely pale-skinned man with a really long tongue
. While little is known of Sakon's and Ukon's adoptive father, he is presumably skilled enough to have been promoted to the rank of jōunin who trained both boys in the arts of ninjutsu and taijutsu from a very young age. Their father immediately recognized their natural talent and continuously pushed them to train hour after hour. After years of training they discovered their unique ability - Sōuma no Kōu and were forced, as usual, by their father to train continuously to develop their proficiency in this unusual art.It was not long until the boys discovered that their adoptive father was a dark and twisted man, who they soon discovered had a number of other adopted "children" whom he would perform bizarre experiments on. They saw him treat these other children as mere pawns, not hesitating a moment to send them to their deaths for his own personal benefit; and only found remorse in their loss if they were unable to properly complete a task. He would also apply a curse seal to many of his stronger "children"..including Sakon and Ukon. Shocked and utterly scared by the true persona of their adoptive father the twins fled Otogakure. On the road they met an unknown man who pointed them in the direction of a great village. This village was Konohagakure and this is where the twins would live until the present time.

Being user's of the Souma no Kou bloodline limit, Sakon and Ukon do not hesitate when engaging in hand to hand combat in fact, they enjoy having such close range encounters with their opponents as they have a natural advantage. Both twins are keen enthusiasts of taijutsu.

This tantō is simply a small, custom-made katana which is double-edged. It can be strapped vertically on the back of Sakon's back, behind the shoulder. But it is rarely seen being carried around as it is usually stored within a scroll or summoning seal.
