Personality: Saito is a very stoic, quiet fellow who only speaks when spoken to or when something is worth saying. He is extremely loyal to Hijikata and obeys any orders without question. he start out at as very cold and almost cruel, but as you progress he begins to open up and turns out to be quite trusting and passionate.
Living in the time of the Warring States Era, He has come to learn the philosophy of the sword along with other life lessons. A person unable to protect himself from defeat isn't subject to live long in this merciless and chaotic world. Therefore, they are subject to destruction. Survival of the fittest in short.

Background Info
History:
One day, a family member challenged Saito to a duel, Saito "won" the match and then was accused of being a murderer and was exiled from his family. Some time later, Saito found himself at Kumogakure and was quickly befriended by -Blade-, -Broly-, -Venom-, Better and the others, it was also then that Saito met xHoudinii and Seblax and immediately was drawn to their respective and kind gesture despite him being a left handed swordsman. Ever since then, Saito has always held fierce loyalty towards Kirabi and the other Kumogakure men.
After years of living his new life as a Kumogakure warrior the winds of fate has taken an interesting turn for Saito. In the middle of a mission with his comrades, Saito spotted a messenger hawk soaring in the sky above him with a piece of paper rolled up and attached to one of his talons. He also noticed that they were heading back towards his new home, Kumogakure. He then decided to cut the mission short and allow his comrades to continue on without him as he tailed the messenger hawk on his own.
As he makes it back to his village gates he notices some samurai making their way ahead. Knowing that what possible trouble could be heading to his new home could be the cause of him residing their he decided to intercept the samurai before they make contact with the village. Once Saito Intercepted the samurai he discovered that he was looking for him and wanted to take him back to the Land of Iron, even if it had to be by force.
Saito agreed to come with him as long as no damage was done to his village. He learned that it was not the intention of one of the samurai, hence, forcing Saito to challenge that samurai to protect kumo. Saito held his own against the strong samurai but in the end, he was defeated by the member of the legendary Yakuza clan member and was carried back to the land of Iron unconsciously.
As Saito's consciousness returned to him he was immediately greeted by other samurai and was thrown into training to gain greater strength, mentally and physically. From there, Saito was then sent out into missions for the Land of Iron.
After proving himself worthy to the shogun of the Land of Iron and the other higher ups Saito was then elected as a Kodenbushi, The Dragon of the North. With this new responsibility, he must now embark on a journey not only to test his skill but also to gather worthy and loyal samurai to make up his sanction of the land of Iron.
As The dragon of the north Saito has been thru countless mission and has proven his strength matches many strong shinobi in the world but he still wasn't strong enough to defend what he love dearly, which was his maidservant and love Mika. He then set out on a journey to become stronger in this cruel world where the strong survive and the weak perish. In his travels he comes across a new fighting style, The Ten No Ryu No Tsume or The heavenly Claw style. This Fighting style is one that was conceived after realizing there was a limited number of techniques that could properly combat with large ninjutsu techniques. With this new fighting style he was then elected to become shogun to the Land of Iron and with this power he swear that his strength will be use to protect the people of his land that aren't able to protect themselves.
His rule as shogun didn't last long. For a while the ninja of the Warring States weren't threatening the peace of The Land of Iron. This caused Saito, as Shogun, to grow weak in strength. Being used to the violence, the rush of battle and the chaos that is war, without noticed to the government that he ran and the people he protected, he disappeared without a trace, leaving everyone to wonder where he went and what was he to do on this journey of his.
Saito was once again recently spotted in the ninja world with a more cold and stoic look that he was known for before his disappearance. He now comes back with a new mental fortitude and a new bushido(nindo) to live by, and all that interrupted it and are unable to protect themselves from defeat would face utter destrruction at his martial prowess.
