Saijinst

This relatively heavily forested area is said to have rain almost every day of the year, making its almost impossible to find those who do not wish to be found. This has made Saijinst an attractive retreat or hideout for criminals and other undesirables, and thus a dangerous place to visit. These often venture into the surrounding areas as well, in search of money or supplies. They grow a special type of lyme grass here, in the narrow strips between sand and soil, that can be used in textiles.

With his stomach now rumbling Roo regretted not stopping to enjoy a quick full course meal in the sunny pastures of Wondong. Hopping from tree branch to tree branch in a downpour of rain within the heavily forested area that is Saijinst, Roo hastily speed to the next territory ahead of him with a side goal in mind of satiating his hunger.

*Rumble, Rumble*

Tsch, damn this place sucks balls. You would think the numerous trees would provide enough cover from the rain too, tst, useless.

King of Magic, Solomon

"You are troubled, my Lord?"

Solomon drew a sharp breath as the voice of Goetia, the Demon God King, dragged him back to reality. He had been day dreaming; or more accurately, he had been pondering the future. The Mage King's heart weighed heavily on him as he sat at the base of the great tree keeping him sheltered from most of the rainfall. His eyes flicked to the left, gazing upon Goetia as if to reply, and then drifted back toward the ground at his feet. "We share a mental bond, my king." It was true after all; Solomon couldn't hide his true thoughts from his familiar, even if he used every ounce of his mental strength to keep the Demon God King out of the deepest recesses of his mind. But he remained silent nonetheless, opting to simply continue staring at the ground rather than speak or acknowledge what was weighing on his mind. But it was something that not even he could ignore, for he had seen it: the end. It deeply troubled him, not because he had seen it, but because he did not understand how or why. It was shrouded, an enigma wrapped in both light and darkness so that not even he, the King of Magic, could fully give meaning or reason to it. All he knew were the connections that bound the events together: the bounties, the necromancers, and Midnight Island. He repeated them in his mind over and over again, as they were not isolated incidents but interconnected events that somehow came together in tandem. It was a difficult sensation for Solomon, something he hadn't felt since he met the fraternal twins Galahad and Amara. He clutched the bounty poster directing these Candidates to capture people from Tazuma in his left hand, crumpling it as his knuckles turned white briefly. Solomon wouldn't let his panicking or cowardice get in the way, resolving himself to investigate these events from afar.

"Hah. So you've decided to act?" The Demon God King stood from his own place of rest, towering above Solomon.

"Not yet. There are too many questions, too many loose ends. We must exercise patience." He replied frankly, with his mind still partially drifting off in his own thoughts as the image of the cloaked figure flashed in his mind. "Hmph..." Goetia simply replied with a mental grunt, displaying some level of frustration at Solomon's persistent lack of will for decisive action. The two even knew of the woman that had been captured at Midnight Island, blood drawn from her helpless body. Even a sight such as that had failed to thrust the Mage King into action, simply acknowledging her plight and the horror largely emotionless, offering nothing more than a mere expression of surprise: huh. The Demon God King's reaction was radically different, expressing anger and shock as he viewed the events through Solomon's mind and watched the young woman be helplessly harvested for blood for a nefarious design. It was only natural that he felt an urge to act, for it was how the King of Magic had designed him after all: the Human Order Correction Ritual. His ultimate purpose was to intervene on behalf of mankind during their time of great need. It vexed Goetia to no end, for it seemed that the threshold for Solomon to rush to action was infinitely higher than his own.

"Then perhaps we should leave here? We can't accomplish much staying in this rain forest."

"Yeah, you're right." He focused chakra in his left hand, using the basic sealing skill to store the bounty poster in his consciousness. Then he finally stood up from the base of the tree, brushing off his damp robes of the water and grass that had nestled themselves in the silks. "I won't accomplish anything sulking all day." He smiled, looking toward Goetia. Whether or not the Demon God King cared, he needed to change the mood. For days what he had seen bothered him to no end. But it was just as Goetia said, they couldn't accomplish anything where they were anyway, and acting hopeless and defeated would help little in the face of such adversity. Goetia did not respond to Solomon's smile, knowing very well that it was feigned, impossible to hide from the familiar. Perhaps he shouldn't have created it to have such an intimate connection to Solomon? But it was the most efficient way to establish close connections to Goetia, and the 72 Demon Gods that composed him. "We'll travel eastward, toward our home." Solomon had spent over 400 years on the Western mainland since he had left Tobusekai. Israel was nothing more than forgotten ruins now in the far east, but whenever the King of Magic traveled in that direction he couldn't help but feel some tinge of nostalgia. It was one of the many instances of human emotion he had started to experience when he removed the shackles that monarchy had placed on him. To this day, even after so many years, those feelings had yet to get old. It wasn't uncommon for him to reminisce on these feelings either. Solomon would frequently day dream about the past, thinking of his wife Sheba and their love, his son Rehoboam, or even that bastard mage Merlin.

The wet grass and mud under his feet proved problematic for the barefooted Grand Caster as he stood up, nearly slipping back down to the impression he left in his seat under the tree. The slip caused Goetia to simply look over, grunting in disappointment at Solomon's expense. But before he could fall back to the earth Solomon simply levitated himself. It was a convenient means of travel for him, a mage that refuses to wear any form of footwear regardless of the terrain or weather. The two wandered eastward, toward the shores of the Western mainland, pondering in each other's thoughts.

Coming from here: [x]

Passing through the forest, Ozymandias took shelter under the larger trees, not wanting to further sully his attire. He'd cling to the thicker trees, the dense canopy shielding his body from the constant rain as he moved into the next area.

This post marks the start of a mission involving the following storyboard elements: Explore the history of something (3)
It had been many years since the Count had set foot outside his stately mansion. After exacting his vengeance, he had drifted aimlessly for a while but eventually decided to seclude himself from the world. There was nothing left for him there. He spent his hours in study and quiet contemplation. He read history, studied horticulture, synthesized poisons and conducted experiments. The Count's mind remained his sharpest blade, and he never knew when he might be forced to unsheathe it. His sole companion during this self-imposed exile was a man named Cedric, his faithful servant. Without Cedric, the Count could never have lived in isolation for so many years and for that service he was eternally grateful.

In recent months, the Count had stumbled across an obscure fragment of history. The dusty tome had offered scant details but it mentioned by name a group other texts only alluded to. The Knights of All Creation. A religious order of knights spearheaded by seven captains. The order's insignia, a seven-headed dragon, only served to confirm this fact. According to legend, the order was founded centuries ago by seven adventurers who had discovered the underground tomb of a long-dead king. Upon emerging from the tomb, all of them seemed profoundly changed. Those who once knew them said their eyes seemed deeper and their brows heavy with wisdom. They spoke with gravity and showed disinterest in the worldly desires for which they used to burn so passionately. By all accounts, it seemed as if each of the adventurers had undergone a transformative experience in those dragonbone catacombs. A spiritual awakening one might say.

Different chronologies have been proposed for the date of the Order's formation. Some say it was formed on that fateful day in the king's mausoleum. Other writers say the Order emerged much later once each of the chosen warriors had grappled with their inward transformation. A few accounts bizarrely claim the Order was founded hundreds of years before the adventurers were born, by the king in the tomb. The fantastical account suggests that the king could peer through time and had chosen these seven individuals to inherit his power and his will. It was a charming tale but no doubt one which belonged in the pages of fiction.

The Order itself survived for generations and allegedly played a significant part in the rise and fall of several nations. 'Kingmaker' came to be one of their many appellations. It was commonly said that a man who had the support of the Knights of All Creation would one day rule all of all creation. Another charming instance of cult propaganda. Perhaps the most puzzling thing is that the Order never fell to an outside threat or to internal discord. They just vanished one day, without a trace. There have been no recorded sightings of anyone bearing their insignia in over a hundred years.

The Count closes the tome with an exasperated sigh. It was clear he would glean no further information from books poured over for so many months. It may have just been an excuse to bring an end to the monotony, but as of late, Dante's musings had brought him to one inescapable conclusion. He knew it in his heart before his mind deigned to confirm it; the Count would venture into the world once more. His first order of business was to discover the truth behind this chivalric order, wherever that might lead him.

Having made his final preparations, the Count prepares to set out on his journey. He leaves a communication scroll with his butler in case anything should happen in his absence. Cedric, for his part, did not seem worried in the least. He knew that Dantes could appear anywhere, instantaneously and could return at the first sign of trouble. Even if the criminals that roamed the outer reaches of his forest dared to venture this far and somehow unmasked the mansion hidden by various cloaking techniques, they would be no match for the master of the house. As a final measure, the Count summons a black cloak over his waist coat which radiates a dark green glow to signify its activation. After pulling a hat from the coat rack and placing it on his head, he acknowledges Cedric with a nod and the butler receives him with a bow. Now that he was finally here, quite literally standing at the threshold, Dantes takes in his surroundings with a grateful, nostalgic, bittersweet smile. He shades his downcast eyes with the rim of his hat and passes through the front door and into the world beyond. He already knew his first destination as Cedric had passed it by many times before. A nearby shrine, abandoned and forgotten to time, that was mentioned in a few of the texts relating to the Knights of All Creation.

(Busou: Kunrin no Akuma) – Surge of Armament: Reign of Demons
Type: Offensive/Defensive/Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra: 40
Damage: N/A
Description: The user will summon a cloak from the Throne onto their body, with this coat manifesting over their current attire. Through the infusion of prana, the cloak has been bestowed with several properties that render it an ideal defence for battle. The cloak can neither be burnt nor made to be wet. It insulates both high heats as well as electrical currents, allowing it to insulate unfocused lightning techniques before they can affect the user. It is also non-reactive and immune to corrosion, rendering the cloak immune to chemical elements which target it. The cloak is bulletproof and will defend against freeform damage of all kinds (excluding freeform boosted beyond 80 damage), from bladed weapons to explosions spawned from paper tags. The weapon itself can’t be destroyed, but it can be forcibly returned to the Throne when struck by a jutsu that exceeds 80 damage. Both the cloak and the Knightmare shave 40 damage off techniques which strike it. Servant rank Surgebinders can sustain the summoned Phantasm indefinitely but they will be prevented from calling forth any further Noble Phantasms until they return this one to the Throne. Heroic Spirits and above can sustain two Noble Phantasms indefinitely but will also be prevented from calling forth any further weapons until at least one is returned.

Demons of Mephistopheles - Seven Princes of Hell
What truly makes this cloak a Noble Phantasm, is that it contains a familiar composed entirely of prana energy. This familiar is also known as a Rashomon and is composed entirely of white Prana. It exists within the cloak, with the Noble Phantasm acting as the vessel of it's containment. The physical form it takes varies from user to user but it is always some kind of animal, creature or hybrid. Upon being summoned onto the body of a Surgebinder, the Rashomon will sap some of their chakra (equal to this jutsu's chakra cost) and essentially adopt the colour of their Prana. This will change it from it's 'dormant' state to it's 'active' state whereby it's capable of acting autonomously and independently of the user. This will neither cost a move nor occupy a slot in the timeframe, it occurs instantaneously upon the phantasm being summoned. The cloak will develop a glowing aura of light in the colour of the user's Prana to signify the Rashomon's activation. This Rashomon can be controlled through mental commands. It can seamlessly emerge from and reintegrate with the cloak at will. It can be released in any shape or form such as tendrils, spikes, limbs, weapons, animals or any other configuration. As it's body is composed of raw Prana energy, it will exhibit the absorption traits of Evocation. This translates to the ability to absorb objects, parts of the terrain and techniques that possess lower chakra than the Rashomon, however upon clashing with a technique of equal chakra, both it and the opposing technique will cancel eachother out. Upon absorbing a technique possessed of lower chakra, the Rashomon will passively leech the amount of chakra it took to neutralize the jutsu from the user's body to restore itself to full strength. Absorbing techniques will count as a move each time it's used (on the turn of summoning, any absorptions count as part of the single move slot used to summon the weapon) but the user is free to perform other techniques while it occurs. Even while released, the Rashomon possess the ability to constantly reshape and reform itself but it's total size can never exceed mid-range in dimensions. All of these manoeuvres, including its initial release and returning to its vessel are passive manoeuvres. However, it should be noted that when the Rashomon is used to attack an opponent, it will cost a move to do so but again, the user will be free to perform other techniques while this occurs.
