itachi once told sasuke a story about madara taking izuna's eyes, now we know this not to be true.

madara was gifted with his brothers eyes to help protect the uchiha and carry on izunas will.

so why would the soloking lie to sasuke?

1. to make sasuke aware of ems
2. so sasuke was prepared against danzos eye plucking tech
3. to make sasuke aware obito who was acting as madara was collecting sharingan.
4. preparing sasuke to fight hagoromo??

my conclusion is that itachi may have got the stories mixed up and instead of madara taking izunas eyes it was originally about hagoromo taking hamuras eyes

sealing hamuras inside the sealing pot madara spat out


just a theory... im not saying its mangafact.

So Hagoromo stole Hamura's eyes but he had the rinnegan while his brother had the bakugan when sealing the cabbage aka Kagaya?
