Sage created the moon on his deathbed

Nagato could barely make one that size on his deathbed (rinnegan + uzumaki DNA)

I agree with some of the things that the thread starter said. I do believe that, as the originator of Ninshuu (note that it is not yet "ninjutsu" at this point, but rather a set of teachings that eventually became ninjutsu,) the sage of the six paths may not have used attacks such as grand fireball, raikiri, and the sort. These are all weaponized versions of his teachings. I think the sage's usage was more basic, in that he could breathe fire, spit water, generate electricity, create strong/slicing winds, and manipulate earth. However, just because they are prototype techniques does NOT take away from the fact that, because of his chakra, his basic techniques were potentially on the scale of S-ranked techniques. He may not have had such techniques as dust release because dust release simply did not exist then.

With that said, I believe that, though he may not have been a great ninja (stereotypical representation of ninja in the manga) he was an exceedingly powerful person. He (supposedly) single handedly defeated the ten tails, created the tailed beasts on his death bed, and sealed the husk of the ten tails into enough land that it became the moon (also on his death bed.) Prototypes are better than mass produced models in some aspects, and worse in others. But I will agree with Obito/Kabuto when they said it is impossible to overestimate the sage's influence on the world, as the world that they currently know is all thanks to his teachings.
