Sage of Six Paths is alive, has mastery of Rinnegan far better than Nagato (example Sage made the moon), the 5 Treasures, Inazagi and is 10 tails jinchuriki with full control like Naruto and Bee.

The 5 current Kages plus the past Kages (no edo tensi revived) So that's includes:

Mizukages- 2nd, 4th (3rd tails jinchuriki) and Mei

Raikages- 3rd and current

Tschukage- Muu and Oinoki

Kazekages- 3rd, Gaara's dad and Gaara

Hokages- Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen, Minato, Tsunade and even Danzo

I think this is a better match up than Itachi and sage
