Every theory after the first one was a fail.... and contridicts the manga ^_^ to all levels and makes no sense X_X.

1. Uzumaki clan was formed from the senju.... So he was a Senju first .

I have written a theory of my own in your format so its short and easy to understand


Main Points of theory :

1. The Sage Was born in The age of war as an ordinary human being when the Mind-Less Juubi was creating havoc.
2. He did not have Reningan at Birth!

3. He mastered the art of Senjutsu and created his heavenly weapons.
4. With Senjutsu he could become one with the Nature and harnessed the chakra from the Juubi itself, with that he defeated/tamed the Juubi and used Fugin-jutsu [derived from the senjutsu].

5. After this as Tobi said the sage obtained infinite Senjutsu and that put in the realm of god.
6. With that he also obtained the Rinnegan and had the strength to use it at his fullest.

7. Sage had two sons and they were born with some of sages power, Elder with Doujutsu and Younger with Body.
8. The sage divided the Juubi into Nine beasts when he knew that his time was close.

9. He sealed the empty shell into a piece of earth [CT] and with Rinnegan [ST] put it into the space [moon]
10. He chose the younger son as his successor giving him his weapons and wisdom but that caused the feud between the two siblings.

11. Its just as the story says the Descendants of the Elder Son are Uchihas and Descendants of the Younger son are Senjus.
12. The Uzumakis are blood relatives of Senjus as said, but Naruto is of Hashirama's Lineage just as Nagato was!!
13. Hyugas may be related to the Uchihas.

14. With this we can also conclude that Naruto of Hashirama's Lineage i.e. the Senju and hence the younger Brother will fight Sasuke of Madara's Linegae i.e. Uchiha and hence the older brother.

Possible Future Scenarios :

Sasuke represents the Elder Son ie Sage's Doujutsu
Naruto represents the Younger son ie Sage's Body
They have a final fight in the end with Naruto wining but ending the hatred by forgiving as the Sage wished.

Drawback :

I wouldn't call it a drawback but a misinterpretation - The Tailed beasts thought that Naruto was the reincarnation of the Sage but he actually is his Legacy of the Sage i.e. the Younger brother with "Body + Senjutsu"

Madara was 2nd to have 6 paths
and nagato was the third 6 path coz he was the third person to obtain the power of reningan

my theory is that, the Sage did not have rinnegan by birth, he was not an uzumaki, then you might ask how the heck did he beat juubi?! his treasured tools.. thats right... i believe the Sage used his infamous tools to defeat the beast and sealed it within himself

and by being the juubi's host, he got rinnegan and thats how it came to be,

i believe uzumakis are one of the sons of the YOUNGER son of rikudo sennin, just like rikudo, the younger son in his old age gave to the uzumaki son the ''life force'' he received from the sage, and the rest he passed on to his other son, which carried on the senju path.,

this could also explain the uzumakis and senjus being distant relatives! their ancestors could have just been brothers, making uzumaki and senjus. ''cousins.
