Hiruzen Sarutobi new all the jutsu in the leaf village. He was called the professor of shinobi or something of that nature. Izuna Uchiha unlocked MS. Unlocking MS itself should provide evidence that he was relatively powerful but according to many members of the base no mater what abilities a character is said to have had in the past, if they have not fought in the manga flash back or current time arc then that character is considered to be a fodder with no feats. Which to me doesn't make sense from the start; however, I've noticed that many people despite not seeing the sage of six path's fight in flashbacks or current time arc, consider him to be the strongest character in the series and speak about him as if he is the exact opposite of a fodder. Up until the chapter where Madara Uchiha was resurrected everything mentioned about him has been all hype. The same goes with Hashirama. At least now any praise they receive can be validated in accordance to their "feats"(being the standards set by members of the base.) Still I don't see where the Sage of 6 paths has earned the right to be called anything more than a fodder according to the way you all rate characters. If anything because he has not fought in the current time arc or in any flashbacks displayed by the manga you should all consider him a fodder until proven otherwise correct?

Someone been drinking, he made the ****ing moon, if that isn't enough then how about he defeating the Juubi that this current arc is surrounded on, now tell me what more do u need, should he blow up the world and piece it back together for u to acknoledge his strength.

The sage had Rinnegan, you've seen what the Rinnegan is capable of, no? He defeated full powered Juubi all by himself. That alone makes him the most powerful being.

You're speaking purely on hype and things that where said about him. But we haven't seen much from him. I'm just going off of what most of you in the base use to rate characters.

But again we don't know how he did. We haven't seen anything from here. I think you all are missing the point of this thread. I know the sage of six paths is not a fodder. Why don't you try answering the important questions. The questions that are actually relevant to this thread.

It was said that Izuna Uchiha had MS yet apparently even with MS a character is said to be a fodder with no feats unless we have seen him fight in a flash back or current time arc.

Don't put everyone under a common denominator, just because some hater said so. Izuna was said to be equal to MS Madara, that proves he was somewhat strong. The sage defeated and divided the Juubi, which is a feat in and of itself.

Now that is not contradicting at all and I'm not being sarcastic. You're not the norm in the base.

I don't consider Izuna fodder. Anyway:

People aren't basing it on the fact that we haven't seen them fight. They are basing it on stuff that we have seen. Take Hiruzen for example. He was said to be the strongest hokage, yet he had to kill himself in order to take out 2 pathetic shells of Hashirama and Tobirama. He had a chance to redeem himself against 10 tails Obito. Remember that he was said to be able to use all of the leaf's jutsus. Yet, what did he choose to use? Shurikens! You can't use his age or chakara reserve as an excuse because he was an edo tensei. He then proceeded to get annihilated and he didn't come back until much later when he simply cut a few tree branches. If Hiruzen was the strongest hokage then he should be able to fight Madara right? You'd think so. Yet where has he been for the past few chapters? Hiruzen has been useless for the whole duration of the battles against Madara, Obito and the juubi. The only useful things that he has done were helping with the barrier and saving Naruto once.

As for prime Hiruzen, he doesn't have any actual reported feats unlike Hagoromo. They just said that he was the strongest hokage and that he knew all the jutsus. That is basically just saying that he was strong. That is too vague. Hagoromo on the other hand, is known to have defeated the juubi, created the moon and created the bijuus. Those are actual reported feats (not just a statement that he was strong).

That is the difference between Hagoromo and Hiruzen. Hagoromo actually has verbs (ie. He defeated the juubi and created the moon on his deathbed ) to his name while Hiruzen only has adjectives (ie. the word "strongest ") to his name. Verbs vs adjectives. That is the difference between feats and hype.

Finally, as I said before, Hiruzen has had multiple chances to prove himself and live up to his hype. He has not done this. Hashirama and Madara have done this. That is the difference. Hagoromo defeating the juubi is a confirmed thing.
