What do you think naruto will do for chibaku tensei(without kyubi)
Seen the fight where itachi helped him destroy chibaku tensei with killer bee
without itachi knowledge he was doomed.

i'm not a fanboy or anything even if he couuld sense it with sage mode it would be too late cause he would be in reach besides that the background is in the dessert (no place to hide). just take a look at sasuke vs deidara if he hasnt had sharingan he would not escaped it...

his sharingan is worthless compared to sage mode chakra sensing

Just wanted to clear up to people in some part of season 1 shippuden: Kakashi Mentioned to naruto(While chasing deidara to rescue gaara). there only two choices to battle likes of deidara
1) you must have long range jutsu (deidara can dodge rasen shuriken just like pein did)
2) Drag him into close combat( but what i've pretty seen is deidara prefer long range fights)...or 3 if anyone is in the team with long range attacks.
