Sage Mode

I'm confused about Naruto's vs Jiraiya's sage mode. I keep noticing ppl saying Naruto's is Sage Mode and Jiraiya's is Hermit Mode but in Japanese aren't they both Sennin Modo? So it's the same thing right?

Narutopedia calls Jiraiya's an imperfect version but says all the powers are the same except he just has a distorted appearance. But it looked to me like his appearance distorted more (he got toad hands and feet) on purpose to draw in more narutal energy so that he could use the giant Rasengan and then do more hand to hand combat. His appearance distorted probably because he didn't have as much chakra as Naruto to balance out the increase in natural energy. So that's why I figured the only real difference was appearance.

But then I noticed something... When Jiraiya was fighting in Sennin Mode, he landed a solid kick straight to Human Path's face and all it did was blind him. And, just a bit later, after increase the natural energy in his Sennin Mode, Jiraiya tried to punch Human Path, who easily blocked it with one hand...

However when Naruto attacked Hungry Ghost Pain his punched went right passed Pain's head, but it still completely incapacitated him.

How do you explain that?

Because That Was Frog Katas Naruto Used Even Dow He Missed The Natural Energy Around Him Attacked Pein For Him Anyway

Jiariya Didnt Master Sage Mode Completely Like Naruto Did Naruto Surpass Him In Sage-Mode

So Jiraiya didn't use frog katas at all? Fukasaku didn't teach him? That was the first thing he taught Naruto... Seems a little weird that he would skip that when training Jiraiya

my guess is that you can't do frog katas with an imperfect sage mode.

I agree with the LvL of sage mode that J-man was at he could use sage mode and its chakra inside the body but in frog katas the energy is outside so that is why he couldn't use it since he could grasp the sage mode completely.

well put to all of you Naruto has the completed Sage mode and therefore was able to master the next step in frog Katas and even when he fought with Pain Gamakichi asked Pa if he recognized those old familiar moves and pa said that Naruto has surpassed thos who had come before him so yeah your all right. But Naruto wouldn't have been able to reach sage mode without being the student of Jiaiya so J-Man still gets his proppers from me.

Naruto seems to be taking little things from great ninja and doing them better than those ninja...kage bunshins - better than everyone, rasengan - better than the 4th (and Jiraiya and Kakashi), Sage mode (better than Jiraiya), more chakra than everyone on his own and infinite chakra with kyuubi...

but I don't think he's surpassed his dad or Jiraiya yet in terms of who wins in a fight. And he's only surpassed Kakashi just now with Sage mode.

Naruto fighting either the 4th or Jiraiya would be incredibly difficult. His relationship with them first is a challenge and so he wouldnt even be able to go all out secondly his level of experience in comparison to them would be amazingly low and those would be enough of an advantage for those two especially to gain the upper hand even Jiraiya claimed he had much to learn before being a complete G and that doesnt matter if he said that before Naruto reached Sennin mode because mentally the same is still true but my boy has shown major improvement in that regard also but yes your right he hasnt completly surpassed them only when it comes to brute strength and overall chakra

The reason why Jiraiya couldnt use frog katas was because, he was having problems controling the natural chakra inside his body, how do you expect him to control the natural chakra around him.

Agreed, pertaining to sheer power and overall chakra Naruto is stronger with his sage mode than J Man but exoerience wise, thats the kicker but answering your question quickly and bluntly Naruto is stronger than J Man.

Naruto's chakra has everything to do with Sage mode, Pa said that sage mode can only be obtained if the person already possesses large reservoirs of chakra its in the manga but I can't recall chapter nor page sorry but its there. Other than that there is no source of Naruto being a Senju just that Madara said you remind me of the Senju spirit in the 1st.
