It's now gotten ridiculous just how much he's underrated. Some people even claim there's little difference between Sage Mode and base mode. I'm getting in to just how powerful sage Naruto is.
First off, I'd like to address that Naruto's no slouch in base mode either. He's actually pretty fast and good at taijutsu. He managed to defend himself from Pain.
To give you an idea of how good Pain is at speed and taijutsu, he's dodged Kakashi's lightning blade twice.
In case you're wondering why he's this good since he lost to Sasuke so bad, it's probably because of 2 reasons. A. He's improved.
B. He was severely weakened when he fought Sasuke.
So just so you know, base Naruto's attributes in base mode alone are great.
Going from there on, SM gives large enhancement in all categories.
So, going from someone who was already very good to having a huge buff is pretty significant.
Strength:
He can lift humungous summons and throw them high into the air like a toy. His striking power is off the wall as well. Ninjas can potentially be one-shotted by his strength.
Even if a ninja blocks it, he'll be hurtled by a rag-doll.

This is what Sage Mode Naruto is people. It's not base Naruto. It's a mode that makes Naruto incredibly powerful and above most characters in the manga. Stop underrating him to make your fave look good.

However, all these arguments are unrelated. First of all, pretty much all speed feats are off-panel. Second, he had more ground to cover, so he still had to have moved as fast or faster. Third, his cloak was pointed upwards, implying he went straight from Gamakichi down to Pain in an angle in one dash.
Fourth, note that Asura didn't even attempt to counter-attack Naruto, meaning he couldn't react. Bear in mind, Pain has shared vision, and the rest of them were staring directly in Naruto's direction. This means that Naruto didn't surprise Asura by attacking in his blind spot, but rather, moved so fast he couldn't react even though he came from a long distance.
This all points to Naruto crossing that distance nearly instantly.

Naruto, in sage mode, is a high-class sensor. He could even sense an entire war!
He also can fight in areas so dark, that not even dojutsus can see.

In case you're saying "Oh, he doesn't have feats of that." Well, apply the speed and strength feats I applied to you for starters. That's already monstrous. However, his frog kumite taijutsu style does 2 things. He uses it as a danger sense, and with it, he completely destroyed the 3rd Raikage in CQB despite the fact that KCM felt that he needed to to trap him instead of just running into him.
It also enables him to manipulate natural energy around him to extend his range.
This is impossible to predict, and you cannot dodge it in CQB. Some who can't deal with the fact that Naruto has something this good try to downplay it by saying it only reaches a tiny distance. However, read this.
He has a constant aura of natural energy around him. That alone shows his range increase is significant if you look at how far some of it reaches. I mean, look at how far the natural energy at his feat reaches. So what if he redirects the natural energy to increase his range to that level?

Sage mode also gives a huge boost in ninjutsu. To give you an idea of just how much, of an increase, chidori equals ransengan, now look at how Sasuke with curse mark, which is a fake sage mode, managed to equal a 1 taile'd cloak in ninjutsu enhancement.
So naturally, a true Sage mode enhances above a fake one and thus, above a 1-tail cloak. Now I'll demonstrate just how much enhancement that would be.
So to put things into perspective. Receiving 9 tails chakra that's not even visible gives over 3X the strength the jutsu originally had. So imagine how much increase a cloak has. Imagine how much increase SM has since it's>= to it.
This is a normal-sized Sage art: ransengan.
Jiraya's sage art: massive ransengan, was stated by the databook to be able to hollow out a mountain if it exploded. Since Naruto's a true sage, his is obviously stronger. So Naruto's massive ransengans can blow holes into mountains. Imagine what happens when he decides to do this.
There's also ransenshuriken. This is what it does in base.
So yeah..... Imagine what a SM version does to someone let alone the massive variant.
All that's needed to hit the enemy is a distraction of clones, or simply to close the distance to a range that he can hit them.
