[Discussion] Sage mode appearance

I would like to discuss sage mode appearance.

The main characteristic of the toads sage mode is the frog eyes.

if you are imperfect, you can get froglike hands, feet and some warts as well, like Jiraiya had.


The main characteristic of the snake/dragon sage mode, are the snake eyes and dragon horns.

Snake skin and snake attachement are maybe appearing too and/or maybe in imperfect. Could have to do with Oro cells as well.

So what can we expect from other sage modes?
Slugs dont have eyes like toads and snakes.
Will a slug sage, if it exists, just gain antennas and/or a weird mouth?
Bit lame isnt it? Not much else can change on the body either.
Should the eyes even disappear? Should a slug sage maybe be more visible in abilities rather than appearance, like being able to split up in lot of small copies of yourself, like Katsuyu can? and being able to reattach (would be useful for Tsunade right now, who is split). What do you think? How should a slug sage look?

If more sages exist like monkey sage, how should that one look?
Enma doesnt have special eyes like toads and snakes or even antennas like slugs.
Enma his monkey eyes are like humans.
Should a monkey sage grow a tail or something ?
Maybe more hairy, monkey like ears?

I would like to hear people their opinion on how other possible sage modes should look.

Sasuke, a possible hawksage (maybe with Juugo's power)? Curse seal is some sort of Sage mode.
This is some art made by Kishi (cant remember the exact chapter). Usually his art becomes true some chapters later.
Examples are Sasuke on a hawk, way before he summoned one. Naruto on a toad, way before we even saw a single one in the series.
Stuff like that.

Some hawks live in humid forests (shikkotsurin forest, the 3rd secret place means humid bone forest).

there are only the three sage modes from what kabuto said about there being three places; mount myuboku and the other two.

anhow, slug sage mode would probably give the user antenna or something. or maybe it would look like this

Slug sage mode might be cool, pearl white skin, maybe pure blue eyes, with blue streaks on the skin here and there with two anttenai atop the head. With a humanoid body of course!

interesting i too have speculated sasuke will obtain sage mode, but great elder toad told about young man who's power lies in his eyes, even tough madara wasn't cool against group of elite ninjas with ems doesn't mean sasuke doesn't have insane power already .... only i mean only naruto have attacks in his arsenal to break sasuke most perfect susanoo (rasen shuriken is warm up) he need constant pressure like senpou - oodama rasengan barrage move he tamed kurama with..

ems allow you to see opponent mind and even in real live situation are like: every direction kunai's *like that* least effort to dodge kunais necessary and escape.. sasuke is perfect ninja + spirit weapons,

Yeah, so a slug mode would look kinda weird maybe, if the eyes of the user fade and are replaced by antennas dont you think? Or it might be cool .

The frog sage mode is the good sage mode and the dragon one is the evil one. There's only 2 good and evil.

I think there's a slug sage mode. Their are 3 great mountains. Frog mountain has sage mode, snake mountain has sage mode so it's a good assumption slug mountain has a sage mode. It'll be based off slugs regeneration.

As for Sasuke hell no he isn't getting a sage mode. I'm willing to see him getting a rinnegan using Karin's DNA. Which would increase his chakra 3times more seeing as that's how much more chakra Naruto has over him because he's Uzumaki.

Two things

1. The hawk represents Taka. Not a hawk sage mode.

2. There ARE three sage modes, at a minimum, and seeing as how Jiraiya and Orochimaru had one or the knowledge of one it only stands to reason that Tsunade the third sannin gets the third sage mode. Also given both of the sage modes shown mirrored the animal contract of the owners It stands to reason that Slug will be the 3rd sage mode. This will probably be how tsunade is able to stay alive if they decide to keep her alive.

Something I thought of while I was typing this interested me and that is BOTH sage modes were of the species that the users had an animal contract with. This leads me to two branches of thought.

1. Sage mode can only be achieved with an animal contract and of the animal you are contracted to. I.E Naruto shouldn't be able to learn Snake/dragon Sage mode even if he found the location like Mt.Myoboku.

2. Maybe sage mode can be attained by anyone who reaches a certain point of amiability with their animal contract animals. We saw that Naruto initially couldn't work with certain frogs but once they were comfortable with each other they were compatible, the same may apply to attaining sage mode. The animal and the user must both share a connection to enable sage mode and although the frogs were with Jiraiya for a long time they may have had some reserves about his character leading to him being incomplete in sage mode. That's my thought but unless Kishi decides to agree with it it's all speculation.
