Sage confusion

Alright before the dragon sage came into the story everybody presumed that the toad sage was the only sage mode achievable. Because gathering nature energy just transforms Naruto into toad sage mode. But now with the dragon sage mode there, I got confused that why does absorbing nature energy turn Naruto into a toad sage and any one (like one of Pain's paths) who cannot control that nature energy turns into a stone frog? Is it because Naruto has a blood contract with the Toads? Or is it that absorbing nature energy leads ONLY to the toad sage mode and there is some other way to go through the dragon sage mode. Is the secret behind the dragon sage mode in the snake always fused to Kabuto's body? :shrug:

but i thought they explained it when Naruto was learning it

But what about the transformation and nature energy as I mentioned above?

I am not quiete sure if what i am saying is right but i think so, when naruto was training he was also close to turn into a frog and thereafter stone that is at least what has been said , but because the pain path sucked in the natural chakra so fast and not the tempo naruto took in nature chakra, that was why the pain path turned into stone so quick, i hope i answered the queston you were asking.

Nope it was told that anyone who cannot control the nature energy would turn into a stone frog.

The toad oil was only used to fasten the process of learning nothing else. :shrug:

probably because if it's taken from animals (the snake on kabuto) as well then its dragon sage mode but if only from nature then it's toad sm xd

That would make the dragon sage mode unachievable without the snake but makes sense somehow xd

The difference, I think, is that Kabuto might be absorbing a different type of nature energy, all the explanations of of senjutsu however were vague, so there really isn't an answer to your question.

As in when you gather nature chakra you (Naruto) goes into toad sage mode, and if you were not able to control it you would turn into a stone frog (path of pain showed this). So then why has Kabuto not turned into toad sage mode able gathering nature chakra?

Well I think the contract thing you mentioned is a good theory, but it could also be down to Juugo's ability.

Here Kabuto says the power comes from the snake place, so in my opinion, this is probably the best theory to go with as to why he goes into dragon/snake sage mode. Because he gets his power from there.

So6p is Sage in Six Paths, Naruto and Kabuto, in one path. As to his partial transformation - like Jiraya, he has probably only partially mastered it.

Toad sage transforms others, as well as Naruto, if not controlled. It is not limited to blood contract, as seen by the path of Pain being transformed.
