Why is the use of sage art the pride of humanity? It is the ONLY significant power that shinobi have that did not come directly from the the God Tree. It is also the key to defeating the juubi. The reason why jutsu that utilize regular chakra can easily be nullified by the juubi/ Juubito is that all these attacks originated from the juubi itself. It's like trying to burn fire with fire.
We know that the juubi is composed of nature energy, but it does not contain the sum total of ALL nature energy in the Narutoverse. When a shinobi uses senjutsu, he/she is drawing on the power of nature energy. This nature energy does not originate from the juubi, but the world around them. This is why sage attacks can harm the juubi. The power from these attacks does not originate from the juubi itself, so they are not adding back a part to the whole. Hence, senjutsu is the pride and salvation of the human race.
