Sage and Sennin

What is the difference between Sage and Sennin?
Jiraiya was only sennin or sage too?
Toad Sage/Sennin?
Even in the NB the ranks Sage and Sennin differ. Somebody help me !!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought it was the same thing. Sage is English and Sennin is Sage in Japanese. But idk why the ranks on here are different.

Sennin and Sage are the same thing. However, I will argue to death that characters are referring to different ability when using Sennin or Sage.

For example, Madara is currently using Sennin powers, however he does not have Sage Mode.

Sannin means "Legendary Three Ninja" and refers only to Jiraiya, Tsunade and Orochimaru.

Sennin- Sage
Sannin- Legendary 3

I get what your saying
- it's like saying CS Sasuke uses Sennin powers ( sage chakra) but Sasuke doesnot have sage mode.

- similarly, Gamagachi, uses Sennin chakra in all his ninjustu, however he isnot is sage mode.( Naruto's frog summon)
